How to recover a stolen Camera? I was at a country bar, Kodiac Jacks in Petaluma, CA late July and I put my purse in coat check but then kept my camera on hand. It was a brand nes SD 550 Cannon camera, so I figured it would be safer to hold on to it. Later that night I ended up putting it in coat check, I handed it to the coat check girl who placed it into my purse (I saw it go in). Then later on when we were leaving I discovered it was missing. I was told they would review the tapes and give me a call the next day. They didnt. I called the next day and was told they would look into it and then call me the following day. They also neglected to do this. Finally after about a weeks worth of calling they refered me to another man who has also neglected to call or return my phone calls. They claim that only the employees have access to the coat check area. Does this mean they took it? Im not as annoyed by having my camera stolen as by their extreemly uncooperative and unprofessional behavior. Suggesions? I would like to know how to deal with the people at the bar. They have not been helpful at all. How can I make sure that other people know about this? Do I ask to speak with the manager/owner and make a complaint?

Have you heard of the "hillbilly slug" for a shotgun? I had a friend show me what he called a hillbilly slug when we were out hunting. It will take a 6 inch wide branch clean off a tree and seems fairly safe but was wondering if anyone knows about this method? You take a normal shotgun shell and cut the casing between the powder and the shot and only leave a small section to hold it together until fired. When you shoot it fires the whole front section like a packet and when it hits it has much greater impact and if it misses, it still doesn't have much range. I know guns and as long as you check the barrel each time to make sure the whole shell was expelled, it should be safe right? My experience is mostly in rifles and pistols and larger caliber cannons but shouldn't this be safe? What could go wrong? The physics should be the same as a normal shell so no chance of it blowing up in your face. I wouldn't use it for hunting but it makes an impressive tree trimmer and blows the hell out of targets.

My PC won't start UP!!! please help? I was on my PC and it just shut down. When I tried to reboot it it would turn on, show the screen saying "windows xp" then showing the screen saying "cannon" but after that it just shows the "windows xp" screen and repeats over and over again. What is best for America? Will our reputation really suffer if we pull out? Our reputation went down as a result of us going in, so why would realizing we did wrong and pulling out make us look bad. Besides if we really care about what is best for America, it is focusing our military on our borders to keep terrorists from coming in, and improving realations with the rest of the world through diplomacy. We should focus on our economy, keeping our borders safe,a solution to our polution problem, and stopping another Katrina from happening. Does anyone really think the insurgents are just going to follow us back to the US? Most of them are poor and live in the middle of the desert. How safe is the M1A1 abrams to be in as a second lieutenant? Thank you for your time. Please read and answer these questions. Please answer these questions to the best of your ability because I have worried parents and siblings who are concerned about me going to war, and I feel obligated to show them how safe Abrams are. First: some info about me. I want to join the army through west point or ROTC. I am undecided, I have the grades to get into either of them easily (3.8 gpa) with no criminal offenses, no children nor a spouse. I want my MOS to be armor. Assuming I went to ROTC or West Point, as a second lieutenant, what type of combat would I see with the armor? Would I be directly involved in combat or be planning and sending soldiers into combat? What would my job be in the Abrams? Would I be the commander, the driver, gunner, the loader? Some questions about the Abrams itself: What is the job name of the man who guns the m240 on top of the tank? How effective is its armor and what is the survival rate for crew inside? How large of IEDs can the armor withstand? What kind of missions do tanks do? What is the effective range of the cannon (I've heard its something like 2 miles) How many servicemen have died for their country while using the Abrams? It'll work like this: people log in, and they have to use the Captcha thing to verify that they're human and not a bot (Captcha is the image verification thing).. and when they do, their IP Address gets recorded into their account as a "Safe IP". From then on, as long as they log in from that IP Address, they won't have to verify that they're not a bot. BUT! When they log in from a new IP Address.. say, from a friend's pc or a public computer.. they'll have to verify themselves as human using image verification again. Once they've logged in, THAT IP Address will be logged as another "Safe IP", so they wont have to verify when using that pc anymore. Question re:labourers, your opinion please? Repost (originally posted in wrong catagory) I have recently had the need to consider employing an additional labourer on my estate. My Personal Assistant takes care of the interviews and then puts forward a recommendation to me for approval. The vacancy is a trivial one and requires no skills or educational qualifications. It is basically an odd job man (for want of a better description) to carry out duties like cleaning the steps, polishing the gates and brushing the stripes into the lawns etc. My PA has put forward an applicant to me for consideration who cannot read or write (this is of no consequence). He (my PA) tells me that the applicant is currently in the service of a noble gentleman whom I know very well – I shall refer to him simply as ‘R’ for obvious reasons. The applicant has told my PA that his services are currently being provided without remuneration and that he is happy with being given accommodation and food – although he claims that the accommodation amounts to no more than permission to sleep in one of the cow sheds. He continues to say that the reason he is seeking alternate employment is because ‘R’ is a prankster (I know this to be true) and he is tiring of the continual japes carried out on him by ‘R’ (many of which leave him injured him in some way). He claims that the last jape involved him becoming a projectile having been shot by cannon as they do in a circus act. ‘R’ had insisted that it was safe but then went on to charge the cannon with four times the amount of gunpowder as that used in the circus novelty act. Now, I don’t mind the man being illiterate or malodorous, (he won’t be allowed in the house) but I really don’t think there is room in my organisation for someone who has no sense of humour. Would you agree that a sense of humour is imperative in today’s workplace?

theoretically sparking a spark plug? Ive recently taken to making potato cannons, and to make this as safe as I can I have decided to not drill any holes anywhere in the piping. so for an ignition source I inserted a standard BBQ ignitor. my worries is that eventually the plastic ignitor will break and become useless from the heat and the pressure. I have come up with a theory but i am not sure if it could work. as we know spark plugs are designed to withstand the heat and pressure of the engine so i want to adapt it for an ignition for my guns If i take a 100,000 volt stun gun, and attach it to a spark plug that is inserted into the cleaning cap would that create a spark?

Question re:labourers, your opinion please? I have recently had the need to consider employing an additional labourer on my estate. My Personal Assistant takes care of the interviews and then puts forward a recommendation to me for approval. The vacancy is a trivial one and requires no skills or educational qualifications. It is basically an odd job man (for want of a better description) to carry out duties like cleaning the steps, polishing the gates and brushing the stripes into the lawns etc. My PA has put forward an applicant to me for consideration who cannot read or write (this is of no consequence). He (my PA) tells me that the applicant is currently in the service of a noble gentleman whom I know very well – I shall refer to him simply as ‘R’ for obvious reasons. The applicant has told my PA that his services are currently being provided without remuneration and that he is happy with being given accommodation and food – although he claims that the accommodation amounts to no more than permission to sleep in one of the cow sheds. He continues to say that the reason he is seeking alternate employment is because ‘R’ is a prankster (I know this to be true) and he is tiring of the continual japes carried out on him by ‘R’ (many of which leave him injured him in some way). He claims that the last jape involved him becoming a projectile having been shot by cannon as they do in a circus act. ‘R’ had insisted that it was safe but then went on to charge the cannon with four times the amount of gunpowder as that used in the circus novelty act. Now, I don’t mind the man being illiterate or malodorous, (he won’t be allowed in the house) but I really don’t think there is room in my organisation for someone who has no sense of humour. Why is it CRUEL to send an alien to their homeland but fine to demand it of overseas Americans? I've lived overseas. The landscape isn't that different. The people aren't that different. I lived in Taiwan for a while (learned Chinese fluently in 6 months - I was considered slow, too). I have friends in and from the Philippines, Korea, Costa Rica, Chile, Brazil, Ethiopia, Germany... My niece and nephew just headed to Central America where their friends live and are perfectly safe, happy, fed, clothed, not suffering under despotism, don't duck cannon-fire on the way to Starbucks, etc... I went to church with missionaries kids who'd been born in New Guinea and never set foot in the US till they were teenagers. I've known kids whose mom or dad had been transferred overseas and had stayed 10 years or more and come back, missed the place they'd been and the friends they'd grown up with and the language they'd learned; they had to learn American English for the first time, aside from what they'd learned from their parents. The same. And they could NOT go back. The could never get citizenship there! Same... It happens. Period. Ear-aches happen. Divorce happens. Chits happens. My Exodia Deck? Would anyone like to rate/fix this Exodia/Creator Deck? And if so, would you please? Am I wrong? The popular Disney actress/ singer Raven is coming to my town. Almost every little girl loves her show and her music. I think she is safe enough, so I decided I would take both my nine year old niece and my God-daughter to the concert. I told my best friend who is the mother of my God-daughter. She said she'd be taking her nieces. I offered to buy tickets for her since she does not have internet access. But I also said to have the money before I bought anything, or else she'd be SOL. She said fine. The tickets went on sale at midnight lastnight. I told her a month ago, and I kept reminding her but she never paid me. So what did I do? I bought three tickets. One for me, one for my niece, and one for my God-daughter. Later, my sister asked if I had bought a ticket for my nieces best friend from down the street. I told her I hadn't. This little girl is nothing but trouble and her mom is a loose cannon. Frankly, I just didn't want to be bothered w/ either of them. Thursday, 04/21/05 State finds 18 instances of sloppy work by Harlan By ROB JOHNSON Staff Writer Board to weigh more charges against medical examiner A three-member panel from the state Board of Medical Examiners has so far substantiated 18 violations stemming from the long-running inquiry into the practice of Dr. Charles Harlan, a pathologist who spent three decades performing autopsies throughout Tennessee. Harlan was once medical examiner for Davidson County and chief medical examiner for the state, but now he faces the possibility of civil fines and the revocation of his doctor's license. The panel resumes its open deliberations today and could rule during the session on whether Harlan deserves any sanctions. The state Department of Health has filed charges in 20 autopsy-related incidents, including allegations of botched autopsies, sloppy record-keeping, wrong diagnoses and callous behavior to families. Dr. Charles Harlan Harlan attorney Dan Warlick counters that his client is an excellent pathologist whose current troubles stem from a conflict with the man who succeeded him as Metro's medical examiner, Dr. Bruce Levy. Harlan operates a private business that offers medical-examiner services to several counties throughout Middle Tennessee. So does Levy, his competitor. ''This all came up so that we can get Dr. Harlan out of Dr. Levy's way,'' Warlick said, a contention Levy has heard often and denied every time. Warlick told the panel during his closing arguments yesterday that for state investigators to have found only 20 cases worth bringing after Harlan's 30 years of practice was not that bad a record. ''Don't throw the baby out with the bath water,'' he pleaded. Robert O'Connell, the attorney representing the Health Department, countered: ''The idea that 20 charges ... do not represent 'that bad of a record' is not an idea that I share. The state has proven the charges that remain before you.'' Indeed, the panel seems to agree. So far, at least. It includes two physicians, Dr. Sam Barnes of Cookeville and Dr. Allen Edmondson of Memphis. Sitting with them is Nina Yeiser of Pickwick Landing. She is the panel's consumer representative. Meeting roughly once a month for the past two years, the panel has heard testimony about the often gruesome and troubling details of determining how someone died: Malnourished children with maggots in soiled diapers. Suspiciously violent deaths. Infants with severe head fractures. Shackled prisoners burned alive in prison vans. A suspected criminal's corpse incorrectly identified, only to have the man turn up alive later in a traffic stop. In all, the panel is considering 20 such cases. Harlan has given testimony or been otherwise involved in hundreds of criminal cases over the years. Of the cases before the panel, those involving possible criminal prosecutions have long since been resolved in the courts. The first case had to do with a fax that Harlan sent to officials at a Bank of America branch in Madison. They needed confirmation of a customer's death so that they could open her safe deposit box. Harlan had already had previous discussions with family members, but the bank needed more. So he wrote ''M.L. is dead'' on a blank piece of paper and faxed it over. The bank asked for something more definitive, so an admittedly frustrated Harlan pulled out some letterhead and wrote ''M.L. is dead. She is green and has maggots crawling on her'' and faxed that. ''I believe that this constitutes unprofessional behavior,'' panel member Yeiser said. ''I don't want to discuss it. My mind is made up.'' Administrative Law Judge Tom Stovall told her that the panel would need to explain its reasoning on the record. That set the tone for a long afternoon. Twenty feet away, Harlan, Warlick and O'Connell listened silently while the panel dissected case after case. Occasionally, Stovall would advise them on how to proceed. Each case was different. Barnes, Edmondson and Yeiser frequently agreed, but they had to hash out whether a case was an example of unprofessional conduct, dishonorable conduct, a pattern of negligence, malpractice or a combination. Several cases involved Harlan's frequent diagnosis of sudden-infant death syndrome. In the one SIDS case discussed yesterday, the panel noted that a review of Harlan's 1997 autopsy found that the child actually died of acute cocaine intoxication. That led to a homicide charge. During that trial, Harlan testified that the sample he drew was contaminated by a dirty needle, causing the cocaine to be found by those who later reviewed the case. Either way, panel members concluded, Harlan's speculation was not professional. ''And that violates the standard of care,'' panel member Edmondson said. In another child death, Harlan diagnosed blunt-force trauma as the cause of death. He found the manner of death to be accidental. But questions about potential child abuse arose, and the body was exhumed. A second autopsy found multiple rib fractures, broken arms and an intentional skull fracture. In 1997, the child's father was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. ''I think it was incompetent,'' panel member Barnes said of Harlan's autopsy. ''I think you would have to rule out child abuse,'' said Edmondson. Earlier, Warlick had told the panel that Harlan's operations were underfunded because the state did not cover his autopsy costs adequately. Full-body X-rays and extremely meticulous autopsies, while certainly desirable, were not always something Harlan could afford to do. ''He's in trouble if he does,'' said Warlick, ''and he's in trouble if he doesn't.'' The board found Harlan guilty of nine counts of unprofessional or dishonorable conduct, two counts of violating Tennessee's criminal statutes, three counts of making false statements or representations, one count of fraud or deceit practicing medicine, one count of making or signing certificates known to be false, and two counts of malpractice. The panel's decision on whether to allow Harlan to continue to practice could have implications on a number of Tennessee counties that contract for his services. Chief Deputy Mike Billing of Cannon County said he was surprised to learn of yesterday's findings. Harlan has been that county's medical examiner for several years. ''We have never had any problem at all in using Dr. Harlan,'' he said. ''We don't know what we'll do now, but I guess we don't have a choice except to use Dr. Levy if Dr. Harlan loses his license.''
