using American high security prisons for holding terrorists? why there are so much fuss about what should happen to Guantanamo bay detainees is there anywhere safer than a high security prison for holding people in constant war with the united states. apart from releasing them and we all know that can't be done neither can we hold them indefinitely with out a trial, after all they are american prisoners my proposal are we should put them all on trial if they are found guilty, send them immediately to one of our high security prison, if they innocent they should be set free..
Are there security guards in American schools? If not, don't you think America needs them everywhere to prevent shootings or any mass murder? In Israel we have a security guards in malls, schools, basically everywhere and it feels safe
Kuwait living for American family? I am researching a job offer in Kuwait and wanted to find out about moving my wife, 22 month old baby and a 17 year old daughter to Kuwait. Would you say it is okay to take them as far as living conditions in the homes or apartments? What about personal security; are American families safe there? I would be making around $5K USD ($1,453.55 KWD) a month. - Can we live okay on this if we do not drink, smoke or party? - Are there indoor pools or places for kids to play without having to go onto a hot stove surface? - Can you get Sat TV with any language channel (wife speaks Spanish)? - What can my 17 yr old daughter do there for school and fun? Thanks in advance!
How should we handle homeland security in regard to terrorism? Should we wait until terrorism occurs before prosecuting terrorists? Given the fact that many terrorists die in their attacks who will we prosecute? If you believe we should go after the money sources, sponsors, or attempt to prevent these attacks before they happen, the question is how will we do this? This question is aimed specifically at people who believe we should not attack terrorism directly and who also resist all efforts at intelligence gathering. I am honestly interested in how you propose to keep the American people safe. Do not give me the if we leave them alone argument because I will only point out how well that worked for Spain. Further, do not tell me our actions are creating more terrorists. True or not, to believe that in effect shows the terrorists that their tactics are working. Remember fear is the objective. This question is about proposals on how to handle homeland security. I do not care how much you might hate the administration or the war.
Do we as American's have a false sense of security? Are we really safe? And I don't mean from just "terrorists," but are we safe from government expansion, is our food safe, are our liberties truly protected? Dont call me a terrorist! I was simply asking a question, not implying anything.
Why are Democrats playing politics with nation security? Common sense tells us that we must do whatever necessary to keep Americans safe. But Democrats are playing soft by getting rid of torture, closing Gitmo, and giving terrorists public trials. These policies will make America less safe and everyone knows it. So why are Democrats playing politics with people's lives???
What do you think about American Atheists suing to remove the Christian God from Kentucky Homeland Security? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081202/ap_on_re_us/heavenly_security FRANKFORT, Ky. – A group of atheists filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to remove part of a state anti-terrorism law that requires Kentucky's Office of Homeland Security to acknowledge it can't keep the state safe without God's help. American Atheists Inc. sued in state court over a 2002 law that stresses God's role in Kentucky's homeland security alongside the military, police agencies and health departments. Of particular concern is a 2006 clause requiring the Office of Homeland Security to post a plaque that says the safety and security of the state "cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon almighty God" and to stress that fact through training and educational materials.
Your opinion of Republicans wanting to Privatize Social Security? What's your opinion? Republican members in the House have introduced legislation which would take your Social Security contributions and give them to Wall Street. For those in Congress who routinely target safety net programs, like Social Security and Medicare, this Social Security plan is the perfect companion legislation for the GOP/Ryan Budget. Ryan’s CouponCare plan would put insurance companies in charge of seniors’ healthcare while the so-called “SAFE” act would put Wall Street in charge of your retirement savings. Do you feel safe? “This Social Security proposal is political opportunism at its worst. Supporters use the current fiscal crisis–which Social Security has not contributed to in any way– as an opportunity to defund a program many of these members do not support in the first place. The privatization of Social Security does not have support among any age-group or political affiliation once you step outside the Beltway but it remains goal #1 for those who want Wall Street in charge of billions of hard-earned American tax dollars. Max Richtman, NCPSSM Executive Vice President/Acting CEO These privatization proposals aren’t about fiscal responsibility because neither will save the federal government money. The transition costs for converting Social Security into a privatized system would cost trillions of dollars while the GOP/Ryan plan for Medicare adds $13 in waste for every dollar saved. Meanwhile, millions of Americans lose their guaranteed benefits in exchange for a ride on the Wall Street roller coaster and coupons for their healthcare. Let’s not confuse what this debate is really all about because privatization is a political goal not fiscal responsibility. For so many House Republicans who worked hard last fall (before Election Day of course) to convince American voters they haven’t and weren’t proposing Social Security privatization, this legislation certainly now destroys that claim. It’s only been six months since the GOP regained control of the House and they’ve wasted no time pushing to privatize both Medicare and Social Security, at a time when millions of Americans are still suffering in an economic crisis these programs did not create. What day is American not safe? According to Janet our head of home land security there are thousands of people working hard 24/7 364 days a year. She said it on a Diane Sawyer interview. My calendar says 365 days. So does she mean there is one day a year they do nothing? If a republican said that it would be all of the news.
Are American planes ACTUALLY safe?! Even if you don't want to answer read what I have to say? So with all the hype from 9/11 I expected American security to be upmost and tight seeing that big tax dollars are but to securing us in airports. I safely arrived back from Florida to Connecticut with a layover in Georgia. Upon my arrival to my house I found a box cutter with the razor blade in my bag. It wasn't even hidden! I went through security and didn't even know I had it i had forgotten to take it out. I am not joking what the hell is all I can ask is this common or was this just a surprise as it is to anyone else??
Why isn't illegal immigration viewed as a national security threat? I know all the peace ,loving mexican lovers will bash me for this but ,who cares? The fact is we're being invaded by people that have breached our southern border. We have no background on them and some of them our violent criminals. Statistics are fuzzy, but some reports have between 5 to 15 american citizens a day becoming the victim of a crime committed by an illegal. It seems like american citizens deserve a safe and secure country. Agree?
Are Republicans more worried about Unions than they are Our National Security and keeping us Safe? A Republican senator Jim DeMint from South Carolina is holding up the nominee for Transportation Security Chief because of the guys opinion on Unions......yes, his opinion. So the mere thought of someone thinking positively of a Union is enough for Republicans to let us go without a Security chief? Where are Republicans priorities with Americans or with themselves and their corporate donors?
How do you feel about a North American Union right or wrong for America? http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965 http://www.stopthenorthamericanunion.com/NAUArticles.html A Few of The 2005 Bush Task Force Recommendations The recommendations of the Task Force fall into two broad categories that correspondwith the imperative to build a safer and more prosperous continent. The Task Force also proposes reforms and institutions within each of the three governments to promote progress in these areas. The Task Force has framed its recommendations into shorter-term measures that should be pursued now, and long-term steps to be implemented by 2010. Making North America Safer Security The threat of international terrorismoriginates for the most part outside North America. Our external borders are a critical line of defense against this threat.Any weakness in controlling access to NorthAmerica from abroad reduces the security of the continent as a whole and exacerbates the pressure to intensify controls on intracontinental movement and traffic, which increases the transaction costs associated with trade and travel within North America. September 11 highlighted the need for new approaches to border management. In December 2001, Canada and the United States signed the Smart Border Declaration and an associated 30-point Action Plan to secure border infrastructure, facilitate the secure movement of people and goods, and share information. A similar accord, the United States-Mexico Border Partnership Agreement, and its 22-point Action Plan, Building a North American Community were signed in March 2002. Both agreements included measures to facilitate faster border crossings for pre-approved travelers, develop and promote systems to identify dangerous people and goods, relieve congestion at borders, and revitalize cross-border cooperation mechanisms and information sharing. The three leaders pledged additional measures at their March 2005 summit meeting. The defense of North America must also consist of a more intense level of cooperation among security personnel of the three countries, both within North America and beyond the physical boundaries of the continent. The Container Security Initiative, for example, launched by the United States in the wake of 9/11, involves the use of intelligence, analysis, and inspection of containers not at the border but at a growing number of overseas ports from which goods are shipped. The ultimate goal is to provide screening of all containers destined for any port in North America, so that once unloaded from ships, containers may cross land borders within the region without the need for further inspections That cut and paste was from the actual 2005 report. Is this the best way to secure the borders of the whole continent?
How safe is to travel to Cali Colombia if u are an American woman? I'm originally from Colombia and my girlfriend is American from the midwest(blonde 6 ft tall), we are planning to travel to Cali colombia and her parents are very concerned about the security. My mother lives in Colombia and we will be staying with her. I haven't been there in 2 years. My mom lives in a very good place in Cali. Any Americans have gone to Cali Colombia recently? What was ur experience?
An American dude claiming his country had the best security system in the world? 2 days ago i and my friends was arguing with an American dude wom we had known for a while who was trying to tell us that the US security system and the FBI is very reliable and was the best in the world. He said the US was the safest place to be. We told him that that was not possible but he kept on arguing. Someone tried to tell him about 11th september 2001 and he ignored it trying to change the subject and started talking something that was entirely different.. Now guys what should be done to someone who pompously does not accept that what he says is wrong.
American mortgage market and English Building society? On the BBC news today and American who had not been able to pay his mortgage was interviewed. He was sitting in the house which he can't afford to pay for. Why hasn't his home been repossessed? In the UK if you can't pay your mortgage your home is repossessed and sold to repay the loan. The house is security for the loan. If this had happened there would be no crisis in the money markets, and our building society deposits would be safe in the UK. Americans... Is this an isolated case, or do you have different rules in America to the UK? Nick C. In that case surely this is just a short term cash flow problem. Once the properties are repossessed and sold, the money will be available. People with deposits in the Northern Rock should now rest easy, but this problem is not limited to banks. All financial institutions are suffering from the lack of money on the money market. Building societies and banks alike. That is why the treasury has come in with this guarantee for the Northern Rock. They don't want the panic to spread to other banks and building societies. What more should be done to keep Americans safe? Christmas day attempted bombing. I need some things about what more should be done to keep Americans safe. For example I have: Extra security measures at the airports Cooperation between US gov. and the gov. within the Arabian Peninsula I really need some ideas! Please help! Thanks in advance P.S. I'm a sophomore in high school just looking for things to help me with the idea of terrorism. I need to write an essay about this. Thanks!
is Germany and France a safe place for an American to live? The reason Germany i heard still is having problems with security but i love everything about it (and i am much German don't speak it tho)and people are saying that France is being taking over by Muslims(i don't have anything against them its just that the news has been stating that they are not the right people to be around)
Will Iraq be safe now that the American Troops have left? BAGHDAD - Four U.S. soldiers were killed in combat as they ran in fear on the eve of the withdrawal of American troops from Baghdad and other Iraq cities, the U.S. military said, as Iraqi forces on Tuesday assumed control for security in urban areas.
Why was American internment of Japanese justified? I have a debate tomorrow, and I am defending FDR's internment of Japanese-Americans during WWI. Basically what I have gotten to is a better be safe than sorry idea, and that sometimes you need to make sacrifices in order to protect the greater good and as a matter of national security. If anyone has any other strong points or a push in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated! sorry for the typo, I meant world war 2!
How do you feel about the naked Airport Security scanners? Some people will probably agree with me, and some won't... I think it is wrong! It is violating us Americans of our rights. I could almost understand if it was adults only, but they are letting old men sit in the back and look at our naked children, and they aren't classifying it as child pornography which really disturbs me. There are other methods for doing the same thing. If you do some research, these machines are totally unnecessary and they can easily use something for detecting terrorists without showing us naked. How embarrassing. I think many more girls will disagree with this method than guys. Staff are saying there is no way these images can be saved and they are erased immediately after, however there is proof this is false and these machines CAN store the photos. http://bit.ly/7JRgqS I actually came back from vacation with my family a week ago and hadn't heard about these machines. My kids and I went through them not knowing what they were, and of course airport security did not explain to us what these machines could do. Just thinking that some old man is in the back looking at my 14 year old daughter & 7 year old son disgusts me. Also - there is no proof that these machines wouldn't be harmful to a pregnant woman. If fact, they are saying that ALL frequent travelers should be worried because going in these machines often can increase risk of cancer. Ladies & Mothers, do you really want this man staring at you and your children naked? http://bit.ly/b9IeqY On the other hand, I can see how they want to try and ensure our safety. Although I totally support them wanting to keep us safe, violation of our privacy and a 'virtual strip search' is just wrong. Please share your opinions on this. If you would like more information there are plenty of youtube videos regarding the scanners. Just search airport scanners and you will find tons. Looking forward to your answers. -Kaylie
How come the government spends so much money on national security, and America is still not safe? The defense department gets a huge share of tax payer dollars mainly to keep Americans safe from harm. But I believe our national security program is failing. There are no toasters, computers, teapots, cell phones, TVs, calculators, and many other consumer electronics made in USA. America has to rely on China to build our infrastructure. The Bay Bridge (San Francisco Bay Area) is being built in China. The Alexander Hamilton Bridge is being redone by a company called China Construction America. The Proposed electric railway from San Francisco to Los Angeles will be built and managed by Chinese and other foreign companies. America relies on imported oil from the middle east, a place that is hostile to America. All in all, how can America be secure when it can't even do necessities. What happens if a World War III happens? Where would our arsenal of Democracy be?
Fox news says the #1 priority of Americans is security? I constantly hear this on fox news, that Americans believe that the #1 role of our government is to keep us safe. This annoys me to no end! The #1 responsibility of the gov is to secure and defend our freedom, our liberties! they say that is it common knowledge that Americans are willing to give up some of their freedoms in order to remain safe. LIKE HELL WE ARE. I dont know if the liberal media pushes this too because i dont watch those channels. But it is sickening how this nonsense is spoon fed to us. what say you?
Is the United States security going to stay alert for awhile? Just to make sure that our country is safe from terrorists is the United States security going to be as alert as they've been today (since it is 9/11)??? Because I was thinking that the terrorists might try to trick us Americans and attack us on a different day so it would be unexpected. So my many questions is above ^^^^ Thanks
Do you think John McCain picking Sarah Palin as his VP an insult to the American People? That with America in two wars, terrible economic situation at home, high food and gas prices and families in much crisis to potentially have a person who knows nothing on national security or foreign affairs. Who was major of a city in Alaska with about 8,000 people that she would be able to lead our country to a new era. John McCain is old, if anything were to happen to him, Do you feel safe if she would be our President?
Should I Move to Colombia for job security? I'm a senior in high school and planning to go to college for electrical engineering. But I have no idea how the job outlook here in ye states will be for me. In Colombia I have an Aunt and her boyfriend who own an Electrical engineering company there and are doing quite good and looking to expand more. So is the safe bet to move out there btw my Spanish is decent I understand everything I just have an American Accent to speak.
y do cons support bush on national security? currently the US/Mex border is a joke. sending national guard troops who were ordered NOT to stop, detain or question anyone, was an insult to all americans. homeland security is a joke, does anyone really feel safe flying, when airports are emptied because somebody left their tuna sandwich on a bench? currently Chertoff open admits that all illegals from china are allowed to stay in the US because china refuses them to return. what is bush doing that suggests anyone is any safer since 911?
Why is it that I can't get through airport security with unapproved liquids? But illegal aliens can get in USA SERIOUS RESPONSES ONLY PLEASE I can’t get through airport security with my shoes or jacket on and yet…Many criminal illegal aliens can get healthcare, cars, driver’s lic. and materials written in their language (Spanish). Some of these illegal aliens were professional criminals in their country, and are now unskilled workers and undesired illegals here. If the illegal criminals were from Haiti or Africa would our government be so liberal with them having the run of our country unchecked? I have yet to see government documents (healthcare application etc…) written in Farsi or French. Why were'nt US borders extremely secured after 9/11? Do Americans really feel safer knowing that no unapproved liquids (hair spray, lotion, etc...) will be flying the friendly skies? How can we send a clear message to our politicians that this is unacceptable and criminal?
Gun Safe Accessories? I just purchased the American Security TF6036 gun safe, but they didn't have the "Premium package" available on the safe I wanted. Where can I get the pressure switch activated lights and the dehumidifier that comes with the safe?
Security Officer Question: How to ask for work as part-time? Well, you see, this is my first time to this. I'm in college for night class and I just want to have a part -time job as a security, I still have to go for the 8 hour training and the OJT. However, today when I got to my application they said: "why do you want to work mon-friday and first shift only?" and I said " because my schedule preference needed that." and then he said "well, on this job we work 24/7, so if you are like that, then this is not a place for you" VERBATIM! he said that. I just stopped and thought about what to say there for a bit but I was kinda ticked off with his smart comment (I don't like smart sh*t like that, I got too much already when I was in the Army.) Don't know if he's just a d!ck or he's the actual shift supervisor. But I'm starting not to like him, he make it sound like he does a bad-as job of making the american people safe everyday. (c'mon now, we know security job is not a deterrence for crime mugs? heck, unless I got trained as crowd control then hell yeah.) I did not tell him I go to school or something because they are kinda in a fast-paced-apply-for-now-and-verify-background-mode at that time. But I wanted to tell him I only wanted a part-time job not a full time. Anyways, So, they said.. they'll call me back later after all the background check and formality and they did. Told me to be on the guard office tomorrow afternoon to talk more about the job. So is that gonna be my actual interview for tomorow? or I just had one today? Coz I'm quite confused right now because the guy who supervises recruiting thinks I should work 7 days without off? or he's just a recruiting manager and there's an actual place where I could choose where to go as a guard, choose/change shift and decide whether to work part-time or full-time? How do I ask then to have a part-time job schedule? like a way to say it right? Also, Do I have any advancement chance to become like one of those bodyguards or anything a lot better than just a armed/unarmed guard without going to be a Police? Kinda still kick that movie called Body guard too. :) Any help, suggestions, comments, negative reactions...etc is much appreciated. Thank you much. Well, today, I signed some paperworks and I guess I'm waiting for the class to start. They haven't given me any schedule yet for work in either part or full time. So I still haven't told them I want to have a part-time. Anything i should look out into? Oddly enough, they intentionally didn't tell me on the schedule for the last minute probably because they just want to fill positions. Actually, I never had any interview... I know an interview when I see one. And at that day, that wasn't. No negotiation about schedule, salary, benefits...nothing. They just told to guard a particular place for 12 Hours. I don't even know what the hell I'm doing. And that's just a day after I got to class. It was really not good of a job when I thought about it, so that's time they only told me that I'm actually just a floater. WTF? why do some agencies trick people like that? I mean guard is easy if you think about it but damn, these guys are making it difficult? Coz they have a chance to get rid of you as soon as they like it. And you can't say nothin because you didn't know your own schedule?! so yeah, well, apparently I quit without even getting hired long enough. Ugh.
Is McCain a security expert to keep USA safe? Where was he when his friend and GOP leadership(Bush &Co)took America to useless war in Iraq? Could he have use his security accumen to stop the BUSH/GOP advocacy for the war? Could he have saved the lives of over 40000 American who died for the GOP lies that lead to Iraq war? Could he have saved the USA from wasting billions on Iraq war? Or is his claimed experience simply useless? Does DEMENTIA impair sense of judgement? At the age of 70yrs do most people have dementia? Can one trust McCain sense of judgement?
how safe do u feel bout our homeland security? since 9/11 obviously our security was flawed. now there's not enough trusted & knowledgeable ones we can trust with our safety & well being.is there any thoughts as to what we as americans can possibly take action on?
Spiritually Speaking: What should I expect when going to the Middle East? I'm going to the Middle East on the week of Thanksgiving. Three days in Jordan, one in Dubai, one in Bahrain. Have you been to any of those places? I'm not sure where we're going in Jordan. What did you like, what didn't you like? How is the security there, is it safe for Americans? How is the food and water there? Is it safe to drink? Anything else you have to say that's useful is greatly appreciated.
A Republican is making us less safe by holding up a nomination on nothing to do with National Security..why? Jim DeMint is blaming Obama for not having a TSA in place when in fact he is the only one holding the nominee up. He is holding it up over the guys opinion on Unions!!! YES, BELIEVE IT OR NOT! He is making us less safe and playing politics with peoples lives over the guys opinion on Unions! Is this what Americans expect from Republicans? Is this behavior acceptable to other Republicans? Is it Republicans like this that will lead to the deaths of innocent people?
How Many terrorist Attacks on American occurred since 1993? 1 that was 9-11..by islamic terrorists We could class the FBI building also..but it was done by american fanatic. My point is simple: 13 years occured from one attempt to the other. Are we any safer today? if so, prove it. Has our tax dollars gone to more technology to better detect and classify a terrorist attack? i can not grip the fact that we are any safer because of airport security or border control, and anything else we attempt. These terrorists have all the time in the world. is that not clearly evident in the 13 year span between tower attacks. Why should we have to give up civil rights and lose alittle freedom to gain nothing? I want to know one other thing also. Were is the proof that all of this is working? 630 billion in borrowed money seems alot to know one thing..we are not any better off.
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) governing air travel in the United states? rules and regulations? Do these regulations make air travel safer? Why or why not? Are these regulations easy to understand and to follow? Why or why not? Overall, do you think the creation of the Department of Homeland Security has been an effective reorganization of our government, reducing the likelihood of terrorist attacks on American soil? Why or why not?
does americans ever stand up to the government anymore? seems like the government gets away with anything . they take our rights away . the TSA are now searching people on trains buses subways anything that moves they search people .the women that is ahead homeland security already said that TSA will start searching people in sports arenas . its just a matter of time before TSA starts setting up road blocks and pull people over and search them all in the name of keeping americans safe .what happened to our rights . isn't there a law against unreasonable search .
Has Obama taken us back to a pre 9-11 mentality when it comes to dealing with terrorism? If so, why would he gamble with our national security like that? Why would he choose to make Americans less safe so he can please his left wing radical base? If not, please provide in detail how Obama has been tough on terrorism. How has he focused a significant amount of time and resources on making us safer? Has he made it the #1 priority of his administration or have other things become more important to him? Anyone who attempts to actually answer any or all of these questions will get 10 points.
How much freedom are you willing to give away for security? On 9/11 3000 people died in a terrorist attack. It was a huge tragedy where I lost a good friend. But how much freedom are you willing to give up to be “safe”. To put it in some perspective, in 2005 alone, 42,000 Americans died in highway or traffic accidents and the government is hesitant to make major safety changes to cars or roads. I don’t know the exact number, but several thousand people die every year of the flu, but there no huge government push to find a cure. Why is it we will pay any price to prevent terrorism when it kills such a relatively few number of people? I never said I supported terrorism, and I don’t. I just want to know how much freedom are you willing to give up?
Is Blackwater security, Bush's version of Hitler's Gestapo? Black water is a private security firm empowered by President Bush. They have power over the state police and are licensed to kill where ever they operate including here in America. They answer to no law enforcement or government authority They are operating in several American States. How safe are we? What connection will Bush have with Black water after his term in office ends? Will he take over the security firm? Does anybody else see this as a repeat of history? Does anybody see the president as an extremely dangerous threat to the stabilty of America's future? Should Blackwater and firms like it be outlawed? http://www.ibc34.com/BlackwaterinNewOrleans
..How does the american immigration work? ...They gave one of my friends work authorization a social security but denied her petition for asylum, citing that the country of origin that is nepal was no longer very dangerous? This is what she told me. Does this happen? If it does what should she do? She has got a court hearing on the 20th of june. ....Actually she really needs to stay in the US because she is the bread winner, supporting a father in law who had a stroke about a year ago and is paralysed on the left side, a three year old daughter. Because she is from a very politically active family that was in power during the kings rule during the '70-'90(predemocracy period)....it is not safe for her to return to her home town, where her land and property has been occupied by refugees and maoist rebels and there are pending demands for donations from the rebels side. So i hope who ever attempts to advise understand the grave scenario and give real credible and helpful information. Please people she really needs this.
Do you think that our government can afford to have any breeches in when it comes to our security? Although I believe in our government has kept us pretty safe, I just am feeling a little shaky only because on 9/11, the Northwest Flight incident, normal Americans or folkls had to intercede and save themselves and died trying to save others. How often will this have to occur? Sorry, I made this when I just woke up. I meant breach and I do apologize as I try not to do that. And it wasn't meant to be funny. Although that would have been funny.
Will Liberals worry about the Gitmo detainees while their in American prisons? Guantonomo Bay was a cake walk. Obama is making them dead. In any maximum security prison, they will get shanked for sure. They were much safer in Gitmo with all there cohorts. Stuntman Mike: Exactly. If they are in main population, even life long prisoners are Patriotic. They're done. They'll know too. Answers like Bill G make me think he's a terrorist........... Scary Bill..................
Do you prefer privacy or security? For United States denizens - Our right to privacy keeps getting smaller and smaller with video camera monitoring, the gov't rifling through our mail, extensive security screens at airports, and them even listening to our phone conversations without going through due process. (Yes, I know, the monitoring is of suspected terrorists, but still, there's a reason it's required to have a warrant to wire-tap.) Do you, as an American citizen, feel safer? Are you happier that you are safer even though you're giving up all of your privacy? Does privacy mean anything to you anymore? And which do you think we have more of now? Do you honestly feel safe?
North American Union.... Why is most America Against it? I'm just curious as to why most Americans are against a North American Union??? We lose no REAL soverignty.. Plus we if we made a North American Union, and dumped our currency and replaced it with the Amero... I just think overall its a good idea... Instead of relying on China for our manufactured goods, we can turn Mexico into a Manufacturing Center, kill two birds with 1 stone... Get rid of the China problem, and solve the Immigration issue. We would need to use American troops to defeat the Drug Cartel, but it is doable.. I mean, it's better for us in the long run to make Mexico more stable... It's also safer regarding national security, having a outer-security perimeter around the entire Continent. Canada is perfect for natural resources, and alternative energy... We need to accept that our Current Government and system is failing, and we need a change. I think a NAU would be a solution, and then in the future, possibly form one nation out of the 3. Whether it will all be called the United States, or make a new name.. I just think it's a good idea... IDK about you guys... I am actually a Republican, and I voted for McCain thanks... However, I find it funny I am being called "unpatriotic" for realizing the fact our current form of Government will not last. Our founding fathers had a society at the time that cared about thy neighbor, do we have that kind of society anymore?? No we don't... It's funny because John Lock and others that were the inspiration of America, were called unpatriotic for thinking outside the box. Fact of the matter is, Our current system is broken... Uhhh... we would have no Immigration problem if we turned Mexico into a Manufacturing center, it would help rebuild their country, and make goods cheaper for us.We also wouldn't be buying from our enemies. On top of that, we would still have our laws and our basic constitution and bill of rights enacted in a NAU, since we are the major power. Companies don't want to have factories here because American workers tend to be selfish and like to whine. It WOULD benefit us, the Canadian Dollar is stronger then the USD... The USD is losing value. On top of that, we would not be literally owned by China because we buy all of their goods. Things would need to thought out carefully, and the majority of American Laws should be made the standard, including the constitution and bill of rights etc... Putting them back to work is a better idea, and I rather start paying Mexico for our products then China. Another note, why wouldn't you want your southern neighbor more stable? We will never fix the Immigration problem if Mexico stays a 3rd world country for eternity. That is fact... Canada is fine-as-is and could be easily intergrated. Mexico needs some work but in the long run it would be better for our country. A New World Order is NOT a bad idea. The fact is, we are advancing to the point where Earth itself should be under one banner.
Dual Irish/American Citizen Has Questions About Jobs and Safe Home Program? Hi. I am a dual Irish/American citizen. I have yet to get a passport, but my mother was born and grew up in Ireland so I don't foresee a problem. Are there more people like me out there who have relocated to Ireland or another EU country? What was your experience like in terms of employment? Were most employers ok with you having grown up in America and now want to work in Europe? Basically what was your experience like in terms of the actual move and job search? I am finishing my master's degree right now in the states. Both of my college degrees are cum laude, does that matter to Irish employers? Has anyone had a family member involved in the Safe Home program? My mother who left Ireland would like to go back and is 64 years of age. She is on a fixed income. Does anyone know what type of benefits transfer to Ireland-soc security, VA pension? What kind of benefits she would be eligible for from the Irish gov?Any other information on this program would be appreciated. wow yahoo...wasn't trying to sneak in sexual inuendo. there is such a thing as the honors system! cumlaude is not perverse! LOL
Amercians really safer now than ever before? I ask this because i truly am amused by the responses i get when i chat in restaurants, meetings with Americans...so here goes...Homeland security has been effective and have mad it safer for Americans at home, terrorists realize this and have realized this thus haven't budged since 9-11. So are Americans safer now than ever before? (please keep in mind that Mexicans seem to have no issue getting into the country, before you answer)
Can you help me out and send me a link that explains the current situation of Homeland Security in the US ? I am doing research on the current post 9/11 world, but I am having trouble finding what I want. I want to argue the fact that the safety of Airlines since 9/11 has not made the improvements that are necessary to keep our American travelers safe and secure to prevent another terrorist attack. If anyone has any links or knows of any books that are available on this fairly 'new' subject, please let me know. Thanks- Unfortunately, I cannot be an active participant as a airline passenger to view the lack of security problems firsthand, since this paper is due next week- PDF files can't open in my OpenOffice writer (generic version of Microsoft Word).
Has National Security baffoonery and Napolitano "the system worked" left America feeling safer from terror? White House homeland-security adviser John Brennan put this argument to rest by publishing a blog in USA Today that not only tells Americans to sit down and shut up but also accuses them of “serv[ing] the goals of al-Qaeda” if they question the president’s national-security strategy — as if two-sided political discourse is al-Qaeda’s ultimate goal. In fewer than 400 words, Brennan embarrasses himself with half-truths, selective omissions, and name-calling hysteria. But more importantly, he identifies one of the major problems facing the Obama White House: They lack a credible leader on homeland security that the American people fully trust. This problem clearly began when DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano came out days after Christmas saying “the system worked.” http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MDE5YmRmNjcxYmYxODhkMjg1NDJlZDNkODFhNjEwMmI=
What does the Democratic party stand for? The Democratic Vision The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American. That commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes the security of our nation, strong economic growth, and affordable health care for all Americans, retirement security, honest government, and civil rights. What the Democratic Party is really telling its voters We will protect as long as no one gets hurt, otherwise good luck We believe that economic growth should be controlled by the government, if you become to successful we will take it from you We believe that you should not take responsibility paying for your “health” necessities, We believe you are too stupid to plan and save for retirement We believe that democrats don’t lie and you should only trust us We believe civil right depend on how much money you make, race, religion ECT. No one is equal

Why is the pro-war mafia so quick to label everyone who opposes the war anti-American? Wow - all these people who wave the flag and believe the war is for democracy - the same fools who believed we had to attack Iraq to "defend" ourselves and that Saddam was connected to 9/11. Isn't it interesting that the people who claim we have the purest motives for going are the first to say "F*ck Iraq," or "Who cares" about the insane death tolls? They don't care about the suffering of Iraqis in the slightest as they burn to death from U.S. bombs or die in the streets by the thousands every month because we destablized their country. So go ahead with your Neanderthalic IQs and call me un-American (it is the mantra of those who are voluntarily ignorant). I want the best for the Iraqis and our soldiers safe at home where they belong not being asked to kill or be blown up on the side of the road. They should only be asked to sacrifice when our national security is on the line.
What is America so afraid of? Isn't this what Giuliani and Bush said we shouldn't do? We are becoming paranoid. To allow the rest of the world see that any little thing such as a light-bright for a cartoon character freeze a major metropolitan city is ridiculous. It took two hippies and a handful of light brights to launch this nation into a frenzy. Didn't Giuliani and Bush both say on September 12th to continue to live our lives as we did on September 10th. I believe the message was to show terrorists that America is a strong and resilient nation that will not succumb to fear. Instead, I hear phrases like "post 9/11 world," and terror threat level. This is clearly sending a message that America is like little mice trying to hide in a hole in the wall so the big bad mean men won't hurt us. Isn't it the job of Homeland Security to ensure that Americans are safe and do not have to fear terrorists? I am not advocating that we should forget what happened, but let's not allow it to have the effect that the terrorists planned for it to have.
The Iraq war is won!, what role can Obama and Dems claim in this victory? "Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr plans to announce Friday that he will disarm his Mahdi Army, which was raining mortars on Baghdad's Green Zone as recently as April. Coupled with the near-total defeat of al Qaeda in Iraq, this means the U.S. no longer faces any significant organized military foe in the country. It also marks a major setback for Iran, which had used the Mahdi Army as one of its primary vehicles for extending its influence in Iraq. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121797955889015047.html?mod=googlenews_wsj Harry Reid : April 2008 " The war in Iraq "is lost" and a US troop surge is failing to bring peace to the country, the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Congress, Harry Reid, said Thursday. "I believe ... that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week," Reid told journalists." Barak Obama: "We're not going to baby sit a civil war. " His Web page is now updated" • An updated Obama quote at the top of the page. The previous quote stressed how Obama had the judgment to oppose the "rash war" from the start. This was a popular message among Democratic voters and was meant to draw distinctions with primary rival Hillary Rodham Clinton, who initially supported the war. The new quote focuses on how ending the war will make Americans safer — a message aimed at general election voters who are more likely to trust McCain on issues of national security, according to polling But his webpage still has this posted: "Only one of his plan's subheads remains unchanged, the first one — "Judgment You Can Trust." That's a message the campaign wants Americans to embrace." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080715/ap_on_el_pr/obama_web_site EDIT Condor: So I take it that you either disagree, or are upset that we've won? Condor : An answer of "none" is really what your saying
Should all funding be stopped for Homeland security?? Should all funding be stopped for Homeland security?? Since they are so inefective to secure our borders such as the border between Mexico and the U.S. A. and they are letting any one cross into the states why should they even exist. they do stupid things like collect revenue from American Truckers who have to pay for federal clearance checks on themselves just to remain ellegible to obtain a commercial drivers lisence. WHAT A SCAM IT IS. and they claim it goes to Homeland Security to keep our borders safe. yet we are invaded evryday by thousands crossing our borders completely unchecked. SO!! Should they loose all funding until our borders are secure like they should be?? Sarge927,How can you claim to be stopping people from bringing in biological weapons when all the people who are freely entering our country are completely unchecked, when wqas the last time you were in the news for capturing someone with biological weapons? I'd say never because none of you ever check them people who are runnig freely across our borders. you only seem to be worried about people who are already U.S. citizens.
Is the best way to protect America to go on the offensive, to fight terrorists overseas? "A key lesson of September the 11th is that the best way to protect America is to go on the offense, to fight the terrorists overseas so we don't have to face them here at home. And that is exactly what our men and women in uniform are doing across the world. " "The key theater in this global war is Iraq. Our troops are serving bravely in that country. They're opposing ruthless enemies, and no enemy is more ruthless in Iraq than al Qaeda. They send suicide bombers into crowded markets; they behead innocent captives and they murder American troops. They want to bring down Iraq's democracy so they can use that nation as a terrorist safe haven for attacks against our country. So our troops are standing strong with nearly 12 million Iraqis who voted for a future of peace, and they so for the security of Iraq and the safety of American citizens." Any comment for what President George W. Bush stated, 24 Jul 2007, at Charleston Air Force base in South Carolina?
How safe it is to ride on the public transportation system in the Philippines? The reason why I asked this question is because I came across some information from the State Department's website that warned Americans against traveling on the Manila Light Rail System, public city buses, and jeepneys due to safety and security concerns due to lethal terrorist bombings that occurred in them in the past. So how safe is it to ride in those forms of transportation in Manila? And what about public jeepneys for the rest of the country besides the Philippine capital?
Should America thank 9/11 for the extra security it gave the country? lets see..... As a result of 9/11, American Nationalism increased and they appreciate their country more. It made the Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay, 9/11 Commission and the War on Iraq It gave you more metal detectors, X-ray machines, Backscatters, that detect bombs in shoes, bags and liquids It provide you with oil. You have the Global Guardian, Financial assistance, CIA and the FBI and FEMA. I think its safe to say that what 9/11 done for your country it's has discredited by the atrocities, but YOU wouldn't have extra security without the advances 9/11 gave you. 9/11 dragged a barren country like America years ahead of itself during the event and if you watch the documentaries, it appear that a great deal of security has changed since. It's security for your own good!
Why does Abama and Clinton hide from questions on security for America? Clinton and Obama keep the focus on the economy thinking the American people have no concern about security. They refuse to address how they will trace the communications between the terrorists in the US and the Middle East. They give us no insight on how they will gain intelligence on the terrorist network, how they will stop the money flow, how they will monitor the Mosques with their hate speech against America. In fact they are ignoring the 'global war on terror' all together. How in the world can America be safe with a President that does not take the 'global war on terror' seriously?
Aren't promises for prosperity for all what Obama sold to Chicago communities he didn't deliver either? Reading and hearing the news broadcasts of Obama's rhetoric on his hollow promises of better life and prosperity for Chicago neighborhoods and united churches ring the same as now -- better homes, security, gardens, education, rights, blah, blah, blah, rallying the frustrated. But he didn't deliver in Chicago either. Nothing changed. Some of the cash he raised disappeared. Now he's hawking the safe false hope to all Americans. What did he accomplish in Chicago in those nighborhoods? Nothing per the news.
Why do Canadians want to live in the USA? Why do many Canadians want to come and live in the USA while Americans are not too crazy about living in Canada? Although, Canada has better medical systems, social security plans, more friendly people and safer in general, more and more Candians want to live in the US and the reverse is not true. Why is it? What are the USA's main attractions?

It's Easy Write a letter to the two U.S. Senators representing the state where you live, and also write to the U.S. Congressman representing your District. Here is a letter that you can use. But feel free to add your own thoughts and comments. You can find your representative's name and address using the links provided in step 2. Dear Senator last name here, Or Dear Representative last name here, The United States spends more money protecting Middle East oil and fighting terrorism than it would cost to develop new energy technology that would obsolete oil as a source of energy. The connection between terrorism and Middle East oil wealth can no longer be ignored. It is time for America to lead the development of new energy technology that would end the need for oil as a source of energy. Freeing America, and all other industrial countries, from the need to use fossil oil as a source of energy will cut-off the flow of oil money to the Middle East and put an end to the financial support of militant Islam. With the help of new technology, America’s energy needs can be obtained from sources other than fossil oil. American technology has put a man on the moon, mapped the human genome, and successfully landed robotic exploration vehicles on Mars. It seems reasonable to believe that American scientists and engineers could also develop environmentally safe alternative energy technology to free America from dependence on fossil oil. The United States has over 270 billion tons of proven coal reserves, having the energy equivalent of four times the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia and equal to all of the proven oil reserves in the world. If the United States could use its coal reserves without destroying the environment, foreign oil would not be needed. Nuclear energy can produce the hydrogen and provide the intense heat needed to make synthetic oil from coal. Nuclear power is a proven emission-free energy source that can replace gas and coal fired base-load electric power generation plants, and enable the USA to develop a replacement for our oil based transportation fuel. The replacement of coal power plants with nuclear power plants would reduce America’s atmospheric CO2 emissions by 30%. The USA does not need to wait for a hydrogen economy; nuclear power can begin to give America energy independence now, by providing the process heat and hydrogen needed for the manufacture of synthetic oil from coal. If nuclear heat and nuclear hydrogen are used in the manufacture of synthetic oil from coal, then the yield of oil from coal would be much higher than if coal was used to provide the needed hydrogen and process heat. Using synthetic gasoline and diesel made from coal, to provide transportation fuel, would not reduce CO2 produced by cars and trucks on the nation's highways, nor would it increase atmospheric CO2 because it would merely replace existing consumption of gasoline and diesel. However, it is possible to have zero emission gasoline/diesel cars and trucks. If technology is used to remove the CO2 tailpipe emissions directly from the atmosphere after the CO2 is released from the tailpipe. In other words, allow cars and trucks to release CO2 and then clean the atmosphere using technology designed to remove CO2 from the air. The collected CO2 can either be recycled or sequestered. If coal power plants were replaced by nuclear power plants, for base-load electricity, and coal is used to make synthetic gasoline and diesel, then Americans who are dependent on the coal mining industry for their incomes would support nuclear energy. Modern Coal-to-oil technology can free America from dependence on Middle East oil. One billion tons of coal per year, at 3 barrels of oil per ton, would replace 65% of USA imported oil, and provide jobs for people who depend on the coal industry. At 12 million imported barrels per day, 65% is 7,800,000 barrels per day. Just over 20% of oil imported into the USA today comes from Persian Gulf Nations, which are also members of OPEC. Less than 45% of oil imported into the USA today comes from OPEC. Drilling for new petroleum might help in the short term, but in the long term natural petroleum is not sustainable — we cannot depend upon crude oil for our energy future. However, the development of technology for the production of synthetic petroleum will create a sustainable energy future. Synthetic hydrocarbon fuels such as synthetic diesel and synthetic gasoline can be made from many different sources of raw material, including renewable biomass. America has an abundance of natural raw materials that can be used to make synthetic petroleum. A large-scale public investment in Gas-To-Liquids (GTL) technology would bring the cost of the technology down so that the manufacture of synthetic petroleum would be competitive with fossil oil production. The current interest in Gas-To-Liquids technology is focused on monetizing otherwise worthless remote natural gas deposits. However, variations on the same technology can be used to make synthetic petroleum from synthesis gas derived from coal, oil sands, oil shale, biomass, or even recycled CO2 in combination with hydrogen extracted from water. Synthetic gasoline and synthetic diesel made from synthetic petroleum can power existing cars and trucks without needing to modify the engines or national fuel distribution infrastructure. Details and links to more information about new energy technologies can be found on the American Energy Independence web site. www.AmericanEnergyIndependence.com Congress needs to fund advanced research and development of new energy technology. The United States needs to move forward with the development of sustainable sources of energy, and do so with the urgency of a national security mandate. Does this prove the head of homeland insecurity needs to be replaced? Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff described anti-amnesty Americans as being satisfied with nothing less than "the death penalty" for illegal aliens and recently warned of "some unhappy consequences" unless illegal aliens were granted amnesty. Yes, that Michael Chertoff – the guy in charge of keeping us safe from foreign invasions.
American University graduates and americans in general - Please help? I have always wondered how the american university system works. Inparticular, the sorrorities and fraternities - what do the names mean like - "delta nu" - and "alpha delta wateva" and why are the groups formed - Im from australia, and i dont think we have this system, though i havent been to university, it isnt as much of a big thing in my country(australia)to go to university. its not nessacary here, to go to university inorder to make a good living. also, is it really as it is in the movies in american schools, like the nerds hanging with the nerds, jocks with jocks, cheer-leaders with cheer-leaders - goths with goths and so on? And forgive me if i sound nieve but is bullying in america by gangs in schools, really how it is? Do schools really have to hire armed security for there students and teachers to be safe? i know its more than one question, but any answers would be helpful - so long as they are relevant. Thank you William B: I didnt want answer like yours - your country is a media capital, so you can't blame someone for trying to be educated differently to what is seen on TV. Im talking about reality shows and WORLD NEWS events that come out of the USA - Im not assuming anything, infact, im doing the exact opposite by trying to learn. You need to deal with the way the world see's your country. People are not the same in every country, AUSTRALIA is nothing like the US - culturally, socially, economically, politically and in almost everyway. To say that is very assumptuous of you. We dont have gun laws like the US, we are under the brittish monachy still so we have a prime minister. Obviously our school systems are different - so what are ya on about? - dont need to hear from people like you!

This would help keep job in the U.S.
IRAQ WAR: Are The American People Truly Just Or Criminal (as judged by the true circumstances of the Iraq War) Question: "If a US President took our nation into war, lied to the American people, and murdered over 300,000 innocent Iraqi civilians, how many Americans would push for criminal indictments of that US President?" This question comes stems from an earlier question found at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A0WTcJHcfh1Hx0sB9AQjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20071019083701AAjF1pL Other following question for later posting: Should President Bush punish China, because of my standing up and speaking out against his administration's crimes? Raising an army against China and escalating World War III. Is this man insane? Do you think that Congress is going to stop him? If not, what will the repercussions of his actions be? Is President Bush a threat to the security of this world and is this nation safer and better off because of him? .
Obama ,and Hillary are not socialist and McCain is an independent thinking conservative.correct? Many of us American don't understand the difference between "social values" as opposed to "socialism" as a form of government control of hard working Americans. Mc Cain, Hillary, Obama are all concerned about our welfare and national security. The difference is how are they going to execute what they believe will make us healthy, wealthy, and safe. Don't just make wild accusations without thinking things independently. American are smart , if only we would think on our own for ourselves without pre-conceived prejudices.

What grade would you give our government on the following subjects? Balancing the deficit? Lowering taxes on average citizens without raising future debt? Preserving social security and medicare? Stemming the rise of health care costs? Spreading democracy to Iraq? Arresting Osama bin Laden? Keeping the America people informed accurately? Protecting our constitutional rights? Decreasing the size of government? Spreading democracy within the US? Reducing hate crimes? Improving our readiness to respond to emergencies, such as 9/11 and Katrina? Proper usage of guns on a firing range? Advancing medical technology through federal funding? Promoting math and science in our schools to compete with other nations? Making aviation safer in the past 5 years? Reducing poverty and narrowing the gap between wealthy and poor? Fighting for workers rights? Protecting the environment? Reducing the cost of oil and/or bringing forth alternative energies? Bring moral values to the American people? Reducing corruption in politics? President? Congress? Sorry World! The US Government. But feel free to grade us anyway, if you happen to have an opinion on how we're running the show over here. Well, some of you keep telling me in other threads how much we've accomplished recently! So, uhmmm....go ahead, lay out your grades by category! Daydoom, no really, A+ for EVERYTHING? Now c'mon, I can think of at least 1 or 2 items that clearly need some imporvement. B+ tops...
The American way, what happened. . .? Why is there so much pain and misery? Why is there so much injustice and savagery? Why is there so many faces speaking dangerous lies? Why are we trusting these people with the evil smiles to lead? Why are we giving blindly? Why are we fallowing with out a thought of whats coming next? Why can we not see any more whats really going on? Why do we, if we do see, just let it happen leisurely? Have we become that convenient, that lazy? Why are we giving up freedom for security, for in the end we will lose both with that choice. What happened to the American way? What happened to being free, what happened caring for your neighbor and keeping America, our home, safe? What happened to standing up when terrorism knocked at the door, what happened to keeping it at bay? Why do we now let it linger in out land, why do we embrace it with open hands? Why does it grow right under our noses, why do we let it my friends? What happened to Sundays rest, fighting for whats right, covering your heart for the flag, Pledging to God, praying openly, what happened to America? What happened to being free. . . Are you willing to give up your freedom for security. . . .I know I'm not. . . America just needs to stand on her own again, we really need to pull away from the other countries and bring all the jobs back for the American people. It may not be as easy as that but hey its the only way Valadent: I would rather be a free American reather then be a blinded one that only thinks I'm free. . .
what does the war or terror really mean? President George W Bush official website www.whitehouse.gov says, "President Bush's top priority is the safety and security of the American people. Though America and its allies are safer since 9/11, we are not yet safe. We have important challenges ahead as we wage a long-term battle not just against terrorists, but against the ideology that supports their agenda" What does "THE IDEOLOGY THAT SUPPORTS THEIR AGENDA" mean? What is "their ideology"?
What American political party is best for moderates like me? Being a moderate, I have political views that are both liberal and conservative, which is why I have problems with both the Democratic and Republican side of me. Here is my liberal side: Belief in social security Belief in welfare (but with a work and training component that weans people off of it) Belief that universal health care and that safe housing are rights to be provided through taxes Lower taxes for the working class, higher taxes for the rich Belief in strengthening small businesses and federal ownership of large corporations. Belief in not declaring war on a country because we disagree with how it is run Limited free trade Belief that corp owners who close American factories and reopen them in other countries are guilty of treason Here are my conservative views: Limited clemency for illegal immigrants Belief that English should be official language Pro-Life Christian Belief that immigration is a privilege, not a right Against affirmative action Not in favor of same-sex marriage--but will tolerate it if churches are not pressured into acknowledging them Belief that references to God should be kept in American influences Belief that freedom of speech should only be limited to citizens Belief that one should not have to "Press 1 for English" Belief that turning away a person from a public job for not knowing Spanish is discrimination Against bilingual education What political party can best meet my needs?
What do U think of this U.S. Training Soldiers to Enforce Border Security? When approaching the border with Iran in Iraq's Diyala province, travelers find a distinct lack of fences, signs or any other landmark letting them know that the border is near, according to officials at the American Forces Press Office. Often the only way of knowing the border is near is by noticing one of the 100 or so checkpoints varying in distances along the imaginary line that separates the Iraq and Iran. Each one of these checkpoints is manned by Iraqi Department of Border Enforcement personnel who stand ready to detain anyone trying to cross over from Iran into Iraq illegally. Working alongside Iraq's border security officials is the U.S. Army 1st Infantry Division's Border Transition Team 4312, which assists in keeping the borders safe and secure. "Our job is to track, confirm or deny illegal border access," Army Master Sgt. Michael Henle, a team sergeant with BTT 4312, said. "We strictly work with the Iraqi [DBE], but we try to integrate the Iraqi army and the Iraqi police into the systems so they can work hand-in-hand, instead of operating unilaterally." While the U.S. government – under both Bush and Obama – denigrates American citizens who volunteer to help the U.S. Border Patrol – often calling them "vigilantes" or "racists" -- that same U.S. government understands that in order for Iraq to survive, it must protect its sovereignty from external threats including terrorism and crime.http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/id.2635/pub_detail.asp
Was 9/11 the first step in America becoming a facist state? If the US government did stage 9/11 it killed 3,000 of it's own to gain a political and economic benifit - How can any American believe the 9/11 conspiracy theory and assume they are safe? CIA charged with abuse Administration moves to ammend the war crimes act and protect them retro actively from criminal charges which means it will never surface in the media again. No charges no media no one will ever know ever again Camp in Cuba allegations of torture the camp is outside the jurisdiction of the US courts Administration argues that the camp should not apply to the standards of the Geneva convention. Patriot act allows for wire taps without a judges signature - the administration can hold without charges anyone on a security ticket - No rights for suspects - Isn't this all a lead up to facist America and didn't it all start then with the governments murder of 3,000 of it's own? Is any American safe and if so for how long?
From the democrat website "The Democratic Vision" they are blind? The Democratic Vision The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American. That commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes the security of our nation, strong economic growth, affordable health care for all Americans, retirement security, honest government, and civil rights. The Democratic Vision 1) “The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American.” False: Republicans want to defeat terrorism 2) “That commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes the security of our nation, “strong economic growth” False: They are not for economic growth; they tax growth, and reward the lazy 3) “, and “affordable health care for all “ False: I pay for healthcare, everyone should 4) Americans, “retirement security” False: Democrats just want to control your money because they think you’re too stupid to do it yourself 5) “, honest government” yeah right! 6) And civil rights. False: They have different rights for everyone,
Why do liberals hate the military and spit on our soldiers? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvbuJKqIJ4Q&feature=email Joe Lieberman said it best: “Look, this is a war, and the more I go back there, the more I see it as a war between 27 million Iraqis -- that's their -- just about their total population -- who really want to live a better, freer, safer life, who feel liberated to be rid of Saddam Hussein, and 10,000 terrorists who are prepared to blow themselves up and to go at -- to go at the Iraqi people and American and Iraqi military, who are trying to protect the Iraqi people. Why do they do it? Because they want to establish a center, a base in Iraq to replace the one we took from them in Afghanistan. They don't want Iraq to be free and modern, because it sets back the terrorist's retched causes. If they should win there which is to say to get us out about the country is stable, I think it will have disastrous effects not only on Iraq and the Middle East but on American security.” Only 7% of the military is liberal.
When does the impeachment of Bush begin? He lies he kills and has stolen all of our money. Yet day after day we sit here, we go to work, live our little lives while these war profiteers get away with murder. Where is the plane that crashed into the pentagon? No where are the PASSENGERS? There are spools of wire on the green lawn right in front of the hole that didn't disintegrate, but 65 tons of fucking steel went poof? Twin Towers. Apparently the "jet fuel" that caused the explosions burned a few time to create a heat so blinding fierce that it melted the steel causing the buildings to collapse in on themselves. Wish I could run my car on "jet fuel" I could drive to France and back on 1 tank! Fuel burns once. That HUGE explosion would have gobbled it up. But noooooooooo not evil jet fuel not jihad jet fuel the smartest fuel in the world when used by 19 Arabs who were never filmed by any security cameras and weren't listed on the flight sheets. And my FAVORITE of them all.....WTC Lucky number 7. "We decided to pull it." says Mr.Silverstien, owner of #7 for about 6 weeks. What else did they decide to pull? I know what your saying... another conspiracy believer, but actually the conspiracy is being spun on the American people. No plane wreckage? C'mon. 19 Arabs training in Florida no less hijack 4 planes and hit their targets? Are you kidding me? Do you know what it takes to fly a jetliner? If you'd rather believe incompetence on the part of the administration for ignoring warnings, be my guest. It hurts deep down inside to even think about these atrocities being facilitated by our own government, but look who's at the wheel.... Mr. I want to take away all of your constitutional rights so we can be safe and free...Mr. your uterus is now my property and I say what goes in and what comes out...Mr. my daddy was president and he helped make policy while in office for a little group called Carlyle and once he was out he was able to exploit those policies and make a fuckload of money selling and manufacturing arms for my little war. I'm sick of being represented by a liar. What can we do? I want suggestions from everyone that reads this. Even if it's to tell me to shut up, I want some action people! Say something!
Give up your rights for Protection? Multiple Choice: If the United States military came home from Iraq, Patriot Acts I and II and Military Commissions Act were repealed, and the CIA, FEMA, and Department of Homeland Security were disbanned... a. Americans would be safer. b. Americans would be just as safe as they are now. c. there would be another attack like 9-11. d. America would be overcome by Islamo-fascists.
CFR Making Moves on American Sovereignty? http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/cfr_making_moves.html Has anyone heard anything about this? How do we as citizens of the United States address such actions in a productive and useful way to put a stop to such? President Bush’s publicity stunt pretending to protect our borders is worse than a transparent ploy. Washington bureaucrats, backed by prominent think tanks, are now proposing the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), which will give you “a safer and more prosperous North America” with “freedom, economic opportunity, and strong democratic institutions.” That’s what the neo-cons promised they’d do to Iraq. The SPP “trilateral effort to increase security and enhance prosperity” they have planned for us is even worse than what they’ve done for Iraq. Sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the SPP is the blueprint to drive the last nail into what once was a sovereign constitutional republic. It is NAFTA on steroids. Do you think George W Bush is a "Grand Strategist" ranking alongside Franklin D Roosevelt? The Boston Globe — the respected, liberal newspaper owned by the New York Times — ran an article last week that Bush critics may wish to read carefully. It is a report on a new book that argues that President Bush has developed and is ably implementing only the third American grand strategy in our history. The author of this book, "Surprise, Security, and the American Experience" (Harvard Press) to be released in March, is John Lewis Gaddis, the Robert A. Lovett professor of military and naval history at Yale University. The Boston Globe describes Mr. Gaddis as "the dean of Cold War studies and one of the nation's most eminent diplomatic historians." In other words, this is not some put-up job by an obscure right-wing author. This comes from the pinnacle of the liberal Ivy League academic establishment. If you hate George W. Bush, you will hate this Boston Globe story because it makes a strong case that Mr. Bush stands in a select category with presidents Franklin Delano Roosevelt and James Monroe (as guided by his secretary of state, John Q. Adams) in implementing one of only three grand strategies of American foreign policy in our two-century history. As the Globe article describes in an interview with Mr. Gaddis: "Grand strategy is the blueprint from which policy follows. It envisions a country's mission, defines its interests, and sets its priorities. Part of grand strategy's grandeur lies in its durability: A single grand strategy can shape decades, even centuries of policy." According to this analysis, the first grand strategy by Monroe/Adams followed the British invasion of Washington and the burning of the White House in 1814. They responded to that threat by developing a policy of gaining future security through territorial expansion — filling power vacuums with American pioneers before hostile powers could get in. That strategy lasted throughout the 19th and the early 20th centuries, and accounts for our continental size and historic security. FDR's plans for the post-World War II period were the second grand strategy and gained American security by establishing free markets and self-determination in Europe as a safeguard against future European wars, while creating the United Nations and related agencies to help us manage the rest of the world and contain the Soviets. The end of the Cold War changed that and led, according to Mr. Gaddis, to President Clinton's assumption that a new grand strategy was not needed because globalization and democratization were inevitable. "Clinton said as much at one point. I think that was shallow. I think they were asleep at the switch," Mr. Gaddis observed. That brings the professor to George W.Bush, who he describes as undergoing "one of the most surprising transformations of an underrated national leader since Prince Hal became Henry V." Clearly, Mr. Gaddis has not been a long-time admirer of Mr. Bush. But he is now. He observes that Mr. Bush "undertook a decisive and courageous reassessment of American grand strategy following the shock of the 9/11 attacks. At his doctrine's center, Bush placed the democratization of the Middle East and the urgent need to prevent terrorists and rogue states from getting nuclear weapons. Bush also boldly rejected the constraints of an outmoded international system that was really nothing more that a snapshot of the configuration of power that existed in 1945." It is worth noting that John Kerry and the other Democrats' central criticism of Mr. Bush — the prosaic argument that he should have taken no action without U.N. approval — is rejected by Mr. Gaddis as being a proposed policy that would be constrained by an "outmoded international system." In assessing Mr. Bush's progress to date, the Boston Globe quotes Mr. Gaddis: "So far the military action in Iraq has produced a modest improvement in American and global economic conditions; an intensified dialogue within the Arab world about political reform; a withdrawal of American forces from Saudi Arabia; and an increasing nervousness on the part of the Syrian and Iranian governments as they contemplated the consequences of being surrounded by American clients or surrogates. The United States has emerged as a more powerful and purposeful actor within the international system than it had been on September 11, 2001." In another recent article, written before the Iraqi war, Mr. Gaddis wrote: "[Bush's] grand strategy is actually looking toward the culmination of the Wilsonian project of a world safe for Democracy, even in the Middle East. And this long-term dimension of it, it seems to me, goes beyond what we've seen in the thinking of more recent administrations. It is more characteristic of the kind of thinking, say, that the Truman administration was doing at the beginning of the Cold War." Is Mr. Bush becoming an historic world leader in the same category as FDR, as the eminent Ivy League professor argues? Or is he just a lying nitwit, as the eminent Democratic Party Chairman and Clinton fund-raiser Terry McAuliffe argues? I suspect that as this election year progresses, that may end up being the decisive debate. You can put me on the side of the professor.

Do you think Bush has betrayed the American people by seeming to support the presence of illegals? Why has he not pardoned the border patrol agents in California? With the wars in Aghganistan, and Iraq, I still think he is protecting Americans from terrorism, but yet, he leaves our borders open for illegals to enter so easily. Muslims terrorists are able to enter into America through the border, too. Some already have. Why won't Bush protect our borders????? PRESIDENT BUSH LEGACY LEAVES U.S. BORDERS UNSECURED President Bush delivered his last State of Union Address and dishonored our Founding Fathers in the very hall dedicated to the Will of the People. He has failed his duty to protect and secure the U.S. He leaves behind a failed legacy, filled only with empty promises to secure our nation’s porous borders. Our President conceded to the desires of lawbreakers, terrorists, sex traffickers and the Mexican drug cartels, rather than re-committing himself and the Congress to ensuring the safety and security of our nation. Bowing to political pressure and ignoring the message of millions of you who sent faxes and made phone calls. President Bush opened the door to the next 9/11 disaster by re-endorsing amnesty and said “We also need to acknowledge that we will never fully secure our border until we create a lawful way for foreign workers to come here and support our economy.” MCDC volunteers say Mr. President Enforce the Current Laws NOW! BORDER SECURITY FIRST! STOP THE KILLERS AND TERRORISTS NOW! Bush’s amnesty-worker remarks demonstrate that he has clearly abandoned his commitment made in October 2006 to fund and build the physical border fence on the U.S.-Mexico border, and that he still thinks amnesty is the answer to America’s border crisis. BUSH SAID NOT A WORD ABOUT MURDERED U.S. BORDER PATROL AGENT LUIS AGUILAR, JR., WHO SACRIFICED HIS LIFE ON THE BORDER LINE LAST WEEK WHILE TRYING TO KEEP DRUG-RUNNERS FROM INVADING OUR COUNTRY! Even John McCain claims he has learned a lesson from his previous mistakes in support of amnesty legislation. As he campaigns for President, he is often heard saying, “I got the message… we will secure the borders first.” Now we need to make sure that all Washington lawmakers get that message too, even if President Bush remains stone deaf to the People’s Will! The volunteers of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps will not allow our government leaders to concede the safety, security and sovereignty of our nation to the murderous lawbreakers who conspire with the Mexican government to do us harm through their unbridled drug trafficking, sex trafficking and violence towards our citizens. Please ACT NOW so we can demand our President and Congress take the appropriate actions to IMMEDIATELY implement the Minuteman Border Security Agenda before they do anything else this year. Please SELECT HERE to send an immediate fax to President Bush, all 535 Members of Congress, all 50 Governors and all state Chairmen of the Republican and Democratic Parties and tell them to support the Minuteman Border Security Agenda. Send our Washington lawmakers a forceful message that you demand secured borders, a strong national economy and that they MUST STOP rewarding the criminal behavior of illegal aliens. Offering the same empty promises we have heard for more than fourteen months, the President missed an important opportunity to pursue his legacy by demanding the re-funding of the physical border fence. Until we see real change, MCDC is obliged to continue to doubt his veracity towards offering real enforcement of our immigration laws. After the State of the Union Address, the White House published details of the Bush Administration’s solutions to “Improving Border Security and Immigration” that have left us with only more questions about the President’s unilateral abandonment of his numerous promises to secure the border in 2006 and 2007: Here are the questions to which we need YOUR help obtaining answers: 1) Does the President really believe that cameras will better deter terrorists and drug dealers from invading our country, than will a physical border barrier? The President stated that he wants to strengthen border security with “additional personnel, technology and infrastructure.” Currently, the House Homeland Security Committee has refused to permit Boeing to deploy its technology, since it is failing many government tests and cost controls. 2) Why was the National Guard removed from the Southern border last summer? It is evident to an overwhelming majority of Americans that our country is under attack, and we currently do not have enough Border Patrol agents available to deter the illegal invasion, or even to operate under reasonably safe conditions—witness last week’s terrible murder of Agent Luis Aguilar? 3) Why is the President failing to secure 700 miles of the border before year’s end? He promised the fence when he signed the 2006 Secure Fence Act, and those limited spans of fence that have been installed are often built at a much inferior design level than the specifications required by the Act! 4) Why is President Bush not expediting the construction of the border fence? What not do so as a national security priority? Our country immediately reacted with increased airport security measures after 9/11 and reports document that terrorists are crossing the US-Mexico border with alarming regularity and frequency. 5) Why does Congressman Duncan Hunter from CA say the border is not secure? He disagrees with the Bush administration assertion that 165 miles of pedestrian fencing has been completed, but what is the truth? The White House failure to secure our borders caused Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) to file H.R. 5124 last week. The Bill calls for the reinstatement of the 2006 Secure Fence Act as well as requiring the construction of double-layered fencing along America’s Southern land border within 6 months of its passage. Duncan Hunter has ALWAYS been a true friend of the border security movement and his findings reveal that the government has built only 75 miles of fencing as required by law, since the President signed the 2006 Secure Fence Act. the exploitation of our citizens, resources and sovereignty by the world’s thugs. He also believes that we can “take pressure off the border and allow law enforcement to concentrate on those who mean us harm,” but in the next breath, he offers them amnesty once again. So why did he remove the National Guard from our Southern border where Mexican thugs attacked our embattled Border Patrol agents 1,000 times in 2007, and another brave field agent was killed in cold blood just last week? Why are BP Agents Compean and Ramos still in federal prison for their hot pursuit of a felon drug-runner? Within the next year, millions of criminals, thugs, terrorists and international drug cartel “soldiers” will harm our citizens and undermanned lawmen unless we put the National Guard back on our Southern border IMMEDIATELY. WE NEED YOU TO ACT TODAY! Select here to send a fax message to America’s Political Leaders https://secure.responseenterprises.com/mmsotu/?a=1282 IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OUR LAWMAKERS TO KEEP THEIR OATH OF OFFICE, PROTECT AND DEFEND AMERICA FROM ALL ENEMIES!
Is this proof that when it comes to national security neo-cons are about as bad as it gets? Republicans and or conservatives have the worst record for our national defense . Nixon CUTS and RUNS from Vietnam. Iran blackmails Reagan with hostages (Carter got tough and sent in special forces until chopper was shot down) so Reagan arms Iran and the Contras. Reagan CUTS and RUNS from Hezbollah in Lebanon when they bomb a marines barracks. Reagan and Bush arm, train, finance Bin Laden and his boys in Afghanistan (the CIA operative who was the go between said on p.b.s that he warned Reagan and Bush to stop dealing with Bin Laden, but they ignored him thus ending any excuse of “we were helping him to destroy the Russian occupation”. http://www.consortiumnews.com/Print/091701a.html Reagan, Bush, Rumsfeld give Saddam chemical weapons. Hundreds of thousands die during this long ordeal (including an estimated 90,000 infants and toddlers which is more in that time span then abortions for a decade) Saddam runs out and then we stop arming him. That’s why we knew there were no WMD’s in Iraq. Reagan, Bush arm and finance the Taliban. Bush’s go into business with the Bin Ladens (Carlyle Group). Bush’s become great friends with the Saudi Royal family, the same family which has financed terrorism for years. Dubya ignores Presidential Daily Brief which says “Bin Laden determined to strike U.S.”. George Tenant Begs Bush to be on alert for airplane hijackings from Arab students who are being trained to fly aircraft, but not how to take off or land. Congress wants a budget of 3 million to combat terrorism, Bush squashes this and gives zero, that’s zero dollars to terrorism. Richard Clark constantly warns Bush about terrorist attacks that will be coming soon, Bush ignores him. 9/11/01 We are hit on Bush’s watch and Bush looks like an idiot on TV when he finds out we are under attack, and operation blame Clinton because Bush is an idiot begins. Bush protects the Bin Laden family before 9/11 when the FBI was told to back off Bin Ladens brother who was funneling money to Al-Qaeda http://www1.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/cms.dll/articleshow?art_id=1030259305after 9/11. Bush tries handing over port security to countries linked to terrorism. Bush cuts a deal with Pakistan, a country to be well known to be a safe haven for terrorism. Now Pakistan has cut a deal with Al-Qaeda. Bush tries handing over our ports to countries linked to terrorism. Bush is opening up our borders to Mexico and Canada soon allowing terrorists free reign in America, and handing over a hundred thousand jobs to Mexicans to be in charge of our cargo security, and all importing and exporting (this one is from Conservative Republicans http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965 ) People start making excuses “we haven’t been attacked in five years. Experts then ask “what about five years and one month, this shuts up Republicans. Americans invent a new drinking game called “if in doubt blame Clinton”. Whenever a nut case Republican or conservative tries to put blame on Clinton to divert attention away from the Republicans terror record (see above, or read your high school history books) take one shot of whiskey. Rumsfeld sells nuclear reactors to N. Korea. Bush sells parts for fighter jets to Iran. The question is do you still feel safe? And will Republican conservatives quit arming, training, financing all our enemies?
Why Should American Veterans Be Honored? Well i have a 300-400 word essay im not really asking for answers but this is what i have so FAR We should honor American Veterans Because without them we would not have all the wonderful things that we now have. If we did not have these great warriors defending this great country we might have still been under the control of great Britain. These soldiers, Sailors, Air Men, Marines, and Coast Guards have been ready to stand in the way and stare into the eyes of the enemy ready to kill, or be killed and keep this country free. They made the Noble and brave sacrifices of leaving there family, friends, and life behind just to make sure no damage comes here. Only God knows The Teardrops and Blood shed for All who gave some, and some who gave all. For all the soldiers that missed there first child’s years just so yours could sleep safe at night. They have defended the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, Foreign and Domestic for over 235 years. More importantly they defend the people that honor their service, that look upon them for security, and for a steady hand in time of crisis. They have taken a risk, expecting no glory, no fame, or even a thank you. They go over seas, and overland, some knowing that they might not even return home, protecting our right, laws, and freedom. Does it need anything does it sound good =] Wouldd Lovee THe Helpp THanxx =]
BREAKING NEWS: Guess who just announced his candidacy for President of the United States? OSAMA BIN LADEN!!! Bin Laden, long time friend to the Bush Family announced his candidacy for President of the U.S. today on the Republican Ticket. "No one understands the War on Terrorism better than me. The GOP Theme is keeping America Safe: Security over Prosperity (unless your a member of the American Royality). NO OTHER REPUBLICAN Candidate Knows how to keep America Safe BETTER THAN ME." When asked about the other Republican candidates on the ticket. "These guys all talk about security, but not a single one of them has ever held an AKA 47, er, M16 Rifle on the front lines. I single handedly kept the Soviet Union out of Afgahanistan (with a little help from the Reagan Administration). My experience trumps every other candidate on the ticket. I am sure to win." When asked about being a foreigner gaining the presidency and it not being Constitutional, Bin Laden respondend "The GOP has been single handedly stripping Americans of their Constitutional Rights for the sake of "Security". What is one more Constitutional rule to keep me from keeping America safe? Listen, According to the Republican Party, Americans value safety over EVERYTHING ELSE, especially their Constitutional rights. So, I figure, with all my experience and unique qualifications for keeping America safe, they would surely elect me on the Republican Ticket." Oh really? Obama wants us to sacrifice our civil liberties for security, too? If so, he's lost my possible vote! Can anyone tell me who said: "Give me Liberty or give me Death!" ?? Where has our freedom-loving American spirit gone? That's what I thought.
