What kind of safe is fire-proof? I live in UK and am looking for a fire-proof safe for my home which can be bolted down. Where can I get one? What material should it be made from? I've found some that withstand fire for up to 30mins. Can I get a better one than that?
Cheap Fire-proof bag/safe alternatives? It feels unsafe to live in apartments in USA where the neighbours might set on fire and left us with burning apartments. Fire-proof safe is kind of expensive and heavy for securing my documents such as Sentry's safe. Fire-proof bank deposit bags are very expensive. I wonder if you have any ideas of alternatives for us to have fire-proof bags/suitcase/safe or create one? That has high volume capacity, light and low cost. for water proof, just put it in sealed plastic bag.
Where would a person buy a fire-proof safe? I would like one, but I can't recall ever seeing one, and I have to imagine having something like that shipped would cost an arm and a leg. So, does anyone know where I might be able to buy one in person? I figured the guys who carry guns might know about safes.... Thanks I'm in Michigan actually....it was asked in Yahoo UK by accident. Ooops =)
What items and documents should be in our fire proof box? We've gotten it not necessarily for a fire (hopefully)... More for safe keeping regarding to economy and the banks. I'd also like to know that if a hurricane is barreling down on us, I can grab that, and it has all of the info I'll need.
What materials would make my home fire safe? I recently purchased a wood burning stove with the intent to warm my house this winter but I am afraid to put it in the house until I am sure it won't burn the house down. I have heard that there are panels that look like brick but have fire retardant lining but I do not know the official term for this panel and therefore cannot accurately search for a vendor. If anyone knows this term and has any suggestions to better fire proof my project, please let me know!
the new fire proof so called cigarettes are more dangerous now than EVER ! big hot ash's fall from them now !? you can put these fire proof cigarettes in microwave for 7 seconds and it takes the fire proof out of it , it wont keep going out , but make sure you take silver paper out of your packs or just lay them in the microwave without being in the pack, a friend told us this and we tried it and it actually works, i HATE the new fire safe smokes , there more dangerous now than ever ! with the big hot fire ashes it leaves on them while you smoke them, that are constantly falling on your clothes, they suck get rid of them !
How do I clean extremely damaged coins? Last year during Hurricane Ike, my collection of over 37 years of US Mint coins were damaged by the Gulf and bay waters of Galveston. Even-though the Proof and Silver Proof sets were in fire proof safes, water got inside the plastic cases. I had to open all the cases and take the coins out. I just want to clean them so they are recognizable to spend, since they will never be Proof sets again. I have already rinsed them to get all the salt water off. What can I do?
are WWII ammo canisters fire retardant? i'm wanting to store some things in my house and dont really feel like spending money on a fire proof safe...i have a TON of old WWII ammo canisters and i was wondering if i could just use those? would they survive a house fire and not be ruined?
A run on security safes. Is this a sign of trust in Obama? I've been pricing fire proof safes and found that lots of people have the same "gut" feeling and are buying security safes like crazy... Is this a sign of lack of confidence in our economy or new administration? Have you considered taking all your money from the bank? TRUE GRIT- I heard someone on t.v call their 401K a 201K under the Obama plan. I'm sorry for the folks who will be taxed and will lose some of theirs. After I read Osama's wish list for America, published last week.... I don't want to take a chance on what he's promising to do to the U.S.A.. I hope those who are unaware will read this, too. http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/200811... I googled it and found the EMP attack here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/art... Do you think it's safe to keep money stored at home? I was thinking of buying a small fire proof safe, locking the money in there, and then locking the safe in a filing cabinet. Is that safe? I can't put it in the bank so don't suggest that. It's a long story. In short, I'm running from the homeowners association from hell.
Money stolen and no proof? My father had $4000 stolen from a safe at his home in the past couple of days. It was in a fire proof safe you can buy at walmart. He never locks his doors when he leaves so noone could have broke in the home. He says he does not know exactly when the money was taken but he was going to use the funds for a big purchase. My sister has been running around with the wrong people but my dads says he does not want to call the cops. I told him the cops cannot really do anything because the house was not locked up and there is no proof that anyone broke in or took the money. I don't know what to tell him. Anyone have any advice that can help me get him through this? There was nothing else missing but he does not know when the money was taken. He is the only one that has the keys to it and he says he keeps them w him at all times. But, there was no forceful entry on the safe.

What is flash memory's lifetime in storage? I already know that flash memory has a limited amount of write cycles. But let's say a flash memory device, like a solid-state drive or a simple USB flash drive, was stored in a safe place (a fire-proof safe), and not tampered with indefinitely. How long can it be stored without any of the data being permanently erased or affected? Not accounting the fact that the technology can become obsolete during it's storage period.
Savings Bonds sorta damaged after flooding. Can they still be redeemed? I had some savings bonds in a fire-proof safe (oh the irony) and the flooding of last week damged the bonds. They are still readable, their issue date, beneficiary, and bond number are clearly visible. The problem is that they have some water stains and one sorta tore down the middle. Can they still be redeemed?
Would an oven be safe in a fire? I mean wouldn't an oven be pretty much fire proof if your house burned down? I know you wouldnt be worried about an oven if that did happened but just think about it.
How to fireproof a wall safe? I have a wall safe already installed. It is not fireproof though. With the exception of tearing it out and buying a fireproof safe, is there a way I can make this one fire proof (or at least as fire proof as an economy fire proof wall safe)? Thanks
How do I get in my locked Sentry Safe? When I closed it, both of my keys were inside, and I didn't realize that it would lock by itself. The Sentry safe is fire proof and water proof. The key is tubular. The lock is also made to resist expert lock picking and attacking of the lock. I have $300 worth of giftcards in my safe, so I really need to open it. I also left the paper that had all my information like my serial nuber and model number of my safe, so I don't have the proper information to provide to get my keys replaced. What do I do. Would a lock smith be able to open it, or make a new tubular key for it.
How safe is fire dancing? I was thinking of starting staff or sword fire dancing, which apparently is the easiest. i was gonna wear fire proof gloves, and a mask. but i was wondering how often accidents even happen with alot of practise or coarse.
Is my savings good at my age? 24 years old almost 25 with 10k in liquid savings in bank account, 2500 in cash in fire proof home safe. And just getting started on a 401k, I contribute 200 a month to, but this just started in June Only debt is 8k in student loans left, (down from 21k!in just 2 years) but I do pay triple payments a month, so that will down even quick.
How should i bolt down my safe? I have a fire proof and water proof honeywell safe that has no holes to bolt down.... Would screwing into the back of the safe to attach some kind of hook be okay as far as the safe is concerned? I dont want to drill into it and damage the safe if it does not work...
30 Years old - Sitting on a quarter million? I just turned 30. I have a quarter million in cash/near cash and no debt. About $220k is in FDIC insured accounts earning a safe, but meager 5%. The rest is in mutual funds or cash-cash in a fire-proof safe. I am single, no kids, and no debt. I can now reasonably save about $100k a year after taxes and living expenses. I live in Utah, which is kind of like the American version of Nigeria (lots of fraud and swindlers prey on the, ahem, gullible sheeple in this state). As a result, I'm paranoid to turn over any financial control to third party $ managers. How should I manage my nest egg? And at my current savings rate when can I retire and live off interest? I figure at today's dollars I need $100k/year post-tax to live comfortably.
how can i open a safe? so we just moved into this house and there is a sentry fire proof safe bolted to the floor downstairs the only way to get it out is to open it and undo the bolts. we dont know the combination and we need it moved. also i would prefer not destroying it cause it is in geat condition and i dont want to wreck my tools. p.s. it has a keypad if this helps at all
Need Help on a safe?!!? Im trying to get into a combination safe that my aunt forgot the combination to how do i go about getting into it? Its only about a foot wide and a foot tall. Its a fire proof safe that you could buy at a wal mart or something.
Need help with lockpicking? So, I just recently started up the hobby of lockpicking. I like it and I've been picking the little fire proof safes in my house with ease and I been trying to move onto picking doors in my house/garage. However I can't seem to get any of the pins to stay set, does anyone have any tips on picking doors with 5-8 pins? Oh and I been using a bent Screwdriver as my tension wrench and a paper clip as the pick since I can't buy a lockpicking set being in Illinois one of three states that have owning a lockpicking set illegal =(
PUTTING LOGIC STUDIO PROJECTS ON A USB/FLASH DRIVE? i have logic studios for mac, and i want to save my logic projects on an external hardware and keep it in a fire proof safe, just in case anything happens i can upload that piece to a computer with logic on it and it will go to all the volumes and effects that i had on it before. Is there a way to do this, can i just do it on a flash drive
What to do with inheritance?? Over dinner last night my father last told me where he keeps his will, papers, cash, etc.. He told me he is leaving everything to me and wanted me to know where it was. The scary thing is....he also told me that he keeps all his cash in a briefcase. He keeps about $1,000 in his checking account but thats it. He has about $400,000 just sitting in this briefcase. Not only could he be making money off of this money but God forbid the house should burn down. I was going to get him a fire-proof safe but even then the money is just sitting there. This money may sit there another 30 years, so the money that could be made would not be. I would like the money to be earning interest for when I finally get it. I can't advise him to make investments like I would since he is old fashioned. But what about a CD or something? What's the best idea?? Thanks for your help!!
Please help, I dont know what to tell my dad? My father had $4000 stolen from a safe at his home in the past couple of days. It was in a fire proof safe you can buy at walmart. He never locks his doors when he leaves so noone could have broke in the home. He says he does not know exactly when the money was taken but he was going to use the funds for a big purchase. The safe was locked but the doors to the house was unlocked. I am married and live in another county about 30 minutes away but it breaks my heart for him because of what my sister has put him through and he just dopesn't do anything. No grounding or nothing. She has stolen his car and everything. He asked her about it and of course she denies it but if she did, the money is gone by now. There is nothing the cops or anyone can do. I told him he just has to learn from this and will do him no good to call the police because there is no proof or force of entry.
Lost the Key to My Safe? I lost the key to my small personal safe. It is one of those fire proof safes. Its plastic on the outside and I think there is metal on the inside of that. Its a simple key to open it. The key turns a little hook that hooks on to the safe lid and holds it shut. What can I do to get this open? Can I just take a screw driver to the key slot and try to force it open?
My father had $4000 taken from him but no force of entry, please give me some advice? I have asked this question different ways but maybe i am not being clear. I will try this again and be more specific. My father never locks his house. The doors are always unlocked. His home has been broken into 3 times before. He had a fire proof safe you can buy at walmart under his bed in his room and he sd that $4000 has come up missing out of it. I dont know what had happened because I am married and dont live there but my sister is 16 and she has been alot of trouble for the people she has been running around with and stealing my dads car. Nothing esle was takin in the house and he said that he has had the keys to the safe with him at all times. So, i don't know how someone could have gotten in the safe. I dont know what to say to him and he said that he does not want to call the cops. I told him would do him no good because he does not lock the doors to the house and there is no force of entry and no proof of who took it. He is just out of that money but he does not want to beleive my sister could have took it. He has suggested for me and her to take a lie detector test but I will not do it because I don't even live there and would not have anything to do with his keys. That really hurt me because I have been there for him while my sister has been putting him through it. He brings it on himself because he grounds her and then 2 days later, lets her off. She has stolen his car and sneeked out and drugs. I don't know what to tell him but there is really nothing that the law can do because there is no proof or a way of catching anything because he did not lock the house. He should not have been keeping that kind of money in his house when he does not lock it. What are your guys opinions because my heart is broke and i feel sorry for him but not when he is just trying to blame anyone but her.

Violinists/Luthiers - Opinions Please? I have a very good instrument (not a Strad or del Gesu, but very close to) which I no longer play like I used to when I was in violin competitively. I am concerned about the long term care and storage of the instrument. Right now it sits in a regular padded case (circa 1990s that everyone had) which then sits in a fire proof safe. Also, I have two bows - (a practice bow which is fibre glass, and my concert bow which matches the quality of the violin) both are in dire need of rehairing, but I haven't - just because I no longer play. Any ideas on whether or not I should rehair just for storage? (I've already untightened them for storage) Any one have ideas as to a good case (humidity has not appeared to be an issue thus far) that will provide good long term storage? My budget is no more than 1000CAN, and I would require shipping to Canada. Thanks. Thanks for the opinions; unfortunately, my current profession does not allow time to play anymore, although I do miss it dearly.
$10,000 Dilemma!?!??!? I've taken out a student loan for $10,000 because I want to go on a study abroad trip and my room-mate and I are getting an apartment soon for next school year (we are in college). I know that is alot of money, but it will get used up in no time and I are really going to need it. I told my mom that I've taken out a loan, but I haven't told her how much. I'm afraid she's going to freak when she sees that amount! I would put it all in my checking account at the bank, but I'm afraid that she'll get mad at me for having that much. I was thinking about maybe putting half in the bank and putting the other half in a fire-proof safe that I have... What would be the smartest decision in this dilemma? Thanks everyone for helping me!
Help with a safe!? I have a small, fire proof, closet safe. Three number combo. I have forgotten the combo and suddenly need in the safe. Is a locksmith my only option? PLEASE HELP ME! I need in the safe ASAP!!!!
People who are good at science: is my lab report okay? The spectacular, brilliant minds of Snowy Recreations, Inc. have begun a major revolution in the history of snowmobiles! We have used careful research and run tests to create the remarkable, the divine, the ingenious…Snow Sensation 3000! Yea, so, we didn’t make the actual snowmobile…but we did make the snowmobile’s shell, which is super durable, super strong, and super safe! The properties used to make the composite include PETE, epoxy glue, silk, nylon, and more to create the most innovative, safe, fire-proof, and all around marvelous snowmobile shell that’s the biggest trend on all of the mountains! The original design for the properties of the snowmobile’s shell was layers in this order: thermoset, nylon, silk, PETE, and thermoset again. The good things about this design? It’s tough and it won’t melt, and it doesn’t scratch too easily. We wanted to glue all of the properties together with epoxy glue. But first, we wanted to create other options for ourselves to see if we could make a composite that is even better, because the customer must be completely satisfied, if not dazzled. The second design we tried was PETE, then thermoset, silk, and lastly, nylon, all glued together with gorilla glue. The advantages of using the nylon as the last layer is that it is stiff and hard to tear, but unfortunately, we found that the gorilla glue just couldn’t handle too much weight, which is an important part of the snowmobile’s shell. So, we ditched that idea, and tried one more design. The third design we tested was glued together with epoxy glue again, with layers consisting of PETE, nylon, silk, thermoset, and PP. The design is not fragile and the epoxy hardens to make the shell even stronger, it doesn’t scratch easily, it doesn’t tear under weight pressure… it’s simply a dream! The third design turned out to be the composite we used to create the shell of the Snow Sensation 3000. It is strong, safe, non-flammable, and just amazing in general, of course. It’s everything that you could possibly look for in a snowmobile shell! Someone pinch the snowmobile riders, because this phenomenon is so perfect, it seems unreal! The test we performed on the composite was scratching the surface of the composite to test its sturdiness. The scratches were not at all severe, showing that the composite is strong and ready for action! Only one last modification we could make would probably be adding more PETE onto the composite to make it even stronger; and even more fabulous, of course. We would glue the PETE to the composite using epoxy, the same glue used to glue together the other layers. It is guaranteed that this amazing snowmobile will sell like crazy if it is sporting this fantastic shell!

I mean if it keeps your system from crashing whats the big deal?? whats the pros and the cons of useing the NYKO xbox 360 intercooler??? whats the big fuss?? Also the power supply, the power brick some timed gets warm,.. maby even hot, could that be the problem with more powere having to be used for the fan, making the power brick over heat... is it still safe (fire proof)when the power brick over heats??? any helps would be great Thanks gogglemna99
How to sound-proof a bedroom for cheap? My apartment complex was built in the 1920s and the floorboards upstairs creak like crazy when my neighbor gets up at 4am for work (and I can hear him snore)! I have drop panel ceilings and was wondering if I can stuff pink insulation in between the two ceilings. There is a light fixture in the middle of the ceiling, would it be safe if I leave space around it and the insulation or would it be a fire hazard? Are there any super cheap safe ways to do it?
Personal safes for the home - which do you prefer? I'm looking to purchase a small personal security safe for my home. I'd like to spend $80.00 or less, but I am willing to go as high as $100.00 (we young adults are on strict budgets. lol). I would like something small, basically just large enough to hold an envelope of money, my passport, and some jewelry. Fire-proof is important as well. I'd prefer one with a combination or digital lock. - Which brand of safe do you recommend? - Do you prefer a desk drawer safe, or a small one that can be tucked away elsewhere? - What other key things do I need to be looking for before I make my purchase? [[ I've posted this question elsewhere, my apologies, but I'm finding it hard to recieve any answers! Thanks for any input you may provide!]]
Sponsor needed to help purchase a property with hidden potential.....? This property will go to auction in the next few weeks...I used to know the owner...but due to his failing heath I have lost touch...the point is this...it is situated at postcode ST13 7NP...(it's number is significant in a leap year), anyway...inside the garage there is a fire-proof floor safe sunken into the foundations...there is a covering of chipboard and carpet over the top as this was used as a kind of office at some time...viewing will begin next week and a metal detector (Stanley knife through the carpet), will confirm my description...(it is situated at the rear of the garage just in front of the worktop in the center)...I am possibly the only person who is aware of it's content...and since the owner has lapsed into ill-health then I think it is highly likely it's contents is unchanged. The estate agent on ST13 6HZ is handling the sale...I will reveal more only if you contact me direct...I need to purchase this property...if you want to be involved...post a message!!!!!!!!! I challenge anyone to test my information....this is NOT bullshit...I am NOT away with the fairies...public viewing will start next week...does anyone have the foresight to check out my information?...or will you just dismiss it out of hand...after all there is no attempt on my part to ask for "payment " for this information!...missing out on this opportunity could haunt you for years...come on...this is serious!.....
Big Mistake or Big Discovery???? my GF, whom i live with, keeps her personal important belongings in a fire proof box/safe under the bed, well this weekend she is out of town visiting family. and last night i found the keys to the box and was curious about what was in it. i found the usual things; social sec. card, passport, pictures (why would she keep pictures of her ex-bfs?), and a diary. and the curiousity got to me and i had to look inside the diary, i breifly skimmed the first 100 pages. mostly high school stuff and old boyfriends, blah blah blah, but then i got to the last entry from when we first started dating. she wrote about how we first met, almost a year ago, and she also wrote about some other kid, one of her old flames. she explained that she would always love that kid and always be attracted to him.hmmm. and that was it. that was what her diary ened with! nothing about the amazing relationship we have had for the last YEAR! nothin...Am i not worthy of the diary? or has she grown out of it? sorrysolong sweet well i dont think its that big of a deal, i'll just forget it ever happened and continue on with our awesome relationship! thanks to some and F U to the others hahaha.

How "safe" are bank safety boxes? Just wondering, can bank employees get in? Are they fire proof? How about storms. tornadoes etc? I have a lot of cash in mine, getting nervous.
i need to store 10000+ cds - any suggestions? i need an efficient, space-saving, cost-effective way to store 10000+ cds and dvds (not necessarily in jewel cases). they will not be accessed often, they need to be safe and secure (fire-proof would be great, too!). any suggestions?
Grandfathers war stuff stolen? My father passed on to me some of my grandfathers war stuff. I was moving and put all of the items (his dog tags, some of his medals, some of his paperwork and pics) in a fire proof box for safe keeping. Someone broke into my apt and the box was taken. I am beside myself and wonder if i am able to get "copys" of his medals? thanks My grandfather served in WW2 with the US Army Air Corps. My dad did try to get a copy of grandpas records, but i guess there was some huge fire at the place where the records where held and they lost lots of them.

OK before you all bash me let me explain I'm asking this not as a pro-immigration reformer but as a logical American why not just ALOT more border guards? Our borders would be just as safe why? because in this day and age, shovels, ladders, & wirecutters aren't that hard to come across. what do you say now? " No, I want a huge fire-pit with giant fire-proof lions!" or "No,I want an electrical 96485348632200000 foot fence." do you know A.how much a huge wall would cost? B.how long it would take to build it? BTW.as for the "We'll make the illegals build the wall then we'll chuck them over" responses that I'm gonna get don't you think that if they were to build the fence ,they would make it poorly so that they could come across easier?
how to soundproof a room, cheap and easy? hi, i have a room in the basement, a toy room and we have a bunch of toys in there and its really messy. i'm planning to sell some or give them away to make it like my music room. i play the trumpet and electric guitar. what are some good ways so i won't disturb people, and people won't disturb me? i hear egg crates, but those could catch on fire. so i don't want to use those. do thing blankets work well? or rugs hung on the wall? any other safe way to sound proof a room cheap? thanks!!
can I use broken polystyrene surf boards as insulation? we have several broken polystyrene surf boards would it be safe to use these above the damp proof membrane and below floor boards ie between the joists, perhaps also infilling with polystyrene packing 'squiggles' in an outbuilding... or would this be a fire risk?
What if there is a fire in my apartment and someone is irresponsible? So I just moved into an apartment where about 408 residents live there and it is a pretty big building. I moved out of my parents house and one thing about having a house is you dont have to worry about other people forgetting to turn off the stove but therefore in a building, every tenant has to be responsible I am sure but lets say that if one tenant forgets to turn off the stove (because one or a few) may forget or may have alot of fire hazards in their room, the fire will affect all of us and the building may burn down!!! Thats one thing I am worried. How would the landlord know where the fire is coming from and which room? How can we be sure I am safe living in a apartment on my own without taking a risk worrying about if other people may cause a fire? I am not the only one living in the building so if there was a fire, it will affect everyones safety in the building! And if it were to blow up, how would I get my house back and stuff back? Do I need life insurance or have to have some proof if I lose EVERYTHING?

Can an employer rightly do this? I am a cashier at a gas station. We have no camera system at all, and I had been accused of things I did not do, twice, without proof. One was when the safe came up short on my shift, and the other was when 90+dollars of lottery tickets came up missing, but she had written everyone employed there up. Someone had quit right after getting wrote up for the lottery tickets, and she had suspected that person anyway. I had heard that she took that offense off of our records, but as far as I know, they're still on there. Getting to the point, I came up 6 dollars short on my register last night, and I am afraid that she will write me up for it. I know she can write me up for that, but that will be my third 'offense', and while for a fact I did not do the first to, she can ultimately fire me. Is it legal to write somebody up without proof that they did anything (like i said, NO cameras at all), and what are my options if she does fire me? Will it be hard to find another job? Also, can I get in trouble with the law if she fires me for coming up short/over on my register, considering the other two write ups? What could I do? It was busy yesterday, one customer right after another, and my coworker came up like 4.90 short. If she does fire me for the third offense, could I get her in trouble for false accusations since she had no proof for the first to offenses? Just for clarification purposes, is it a must to give two weeks notice? Also, I *am* a college student :P For additional clarification, I live in Kentucky. I do not know the laws surrounding employment in this state though :( I have been employed at that station since May 1st, 2006. We are never by ourselves for an entire shift, someone is always with you. It may not be a 'higher up' person, but its someone else. Also, when the money went missing out of the till, I was working with someone that shift. She had told me that she knew I didn't take the money out of the till, although she did write me up anyway.
Need someone to proof read my paper or someone good with English? Can someone proof read my essay and help me on out. Thanks ahead of time. As children we always find a place that holds deep memories for us to remember. These memories could come from events that have occurred in the person life, places we go or see might trigger these memories from the past. As time went by, many changes have occurred in my city of Pasadena where I had some positive and negative memories as I was growing up that developed and influenced the way I chose to live my life. Before we moved to Pasadena, my family lived in Chinatown, in Los Angeles. Our apartment had one bedroom, one bathroom, a small kitchen and a tiny living room. My father had to work hard to save enough money to move us into a bigger place. Eventually, he bought a house in Pasadena. The Pasadena house was quite different than the Chinatown apartment. It had a bigger living room and more bedrooms. Whereas the apartment was surrounded by commercial and other apartment buildings, empty lots surrounded the Pasadena house. The neighborhood was still in the construction phase and not many houses were built. The streets were unpaved and the sidewalks not yet poured. As time went by, the stages of construction compares to when I was a young child and then moving along the different stages of life, as I become an adult. At that time, Pasadena did not have any parks with playgrounds for my friends and me to play. Therefore, there were a lot of open lots around the neighborhood of Pasadena where my friends and I would have our own sandlot. We would gather as many children around our neighborhood to play baseball. We made our own base path to run around and mark where the foul ball lines would be. There was also no grass in the outfield to slow the ball down, so if the ball reached the outfield it would skid along the dirt and passed the outfielders for a homerun. Another thing my friends and I would do is that we would bring shovels to make several dirt ramps by piling dirt together. Then we would use our bikes to jump off these ramps to see who would jump the highest and we would also try to do some tricks. Sometimes when I go by these open lots it brings back fond memories I had with my friends when we used to play in these lots. As the years went by, the city of Pasadena started to change with more houses and buildings being built. Dirt roads are now covered by asphalt and streets finally have sidewalks. More people are starting to move into Pasadena as well as gang members. My memories of Pasadena have changed and it also made me feel ashamed to be living here, since these gang’s would graffiti their names on commercial buildings, on people’s houses with block walls, and on the sidewalls of liquor stores. These gangs want to put their names (gang signs or nick names) on these buildings to show who owns the territory; however, it has made my city look ugly. I remember a few times when the block walls on my house were covered with graffiti. This angered me so much that I wanted to catch these gang members who did this to my own house. One of my memorable memories while living in Pasadena would be the influenced of my friend Joe’s dad, next-door neighbor, who would teach us how to tune up a car. Joe’s dad showed us how to use a car jack and where to put the car stands if we were going to change the oil from a car. He showed us what we had to unscrew, the nut, that was holding the old oil and also we have to unscrew the old oil filter and replace it with a new oil filter. Then he showed us where the oil needs to be poured into and how to check the level of oil so it would not overflow. He also showed us how to replace sparkplugs if we have to change it. By replacing new sparkplugs, he told us that we have to use the sparkplug gap for each new sparkplug because it needs to be the right gap size. To find the gap size he showed us how to find it up in the car manual. Besides teaching us how to tune up a car he would also try to get us involved in sports by enrolling us in leagues for baseball, basketball and football, so that way we would stay out of trouble. He was a man who I looked up to and who was there for me when I needed to talk. Joe’s dad influenced me by being there and teaching me new things. As an adult, I am always involved in sports and I also know how to change the oil and replace sparkplugs when I need to tune up my car. A horrible memory I had was when I went to Emerson Elementary School. It was down the street from my house where I went to elementary school. I was in the 4th grade at the time. It was during recess time and my friends and I found a body lying behind a tree where we were playing on the swings. I recognized the person because he was one of my classmate’s brother’s who was from a gang. He had a few bullets lodged in his chest with blood flowing out and onto the ground. We ran and told the teacher about it and Mrs. Johnson called the police. The police officers arrived and asked my friends and me what had happened. We told the police officers that we found the body lying behind the tree where the swings were located. The police officer went over to check if the person was still alive as Emergency crews were arriving. An Emergency helicopter was also on scene as it has flown onto school grounds and they wheeled the body onto the helicopter. School was let out early that day and I could not forget what had happened. At night, when I went to sleep I could not sleep because I could not forget what I had seen. The next day at school they announced that the person had died on his way to the hospital. This memory has stuck out through my life, as I could not forget what had happen on that day. It also influenced me by not joining a gang because I do not want to get shot and die. Another negative memory I had was when I was playing Little League baseball. I was at Smith Park, just a few blocks away from my house. At the time, I was 10 years old playing for the Yankees. It was in the top of the 4th inning and I was playing left field. All of a sudden I heard gunshots fired. I ducked down to the ground and covered myself hoping the bullets would not hit me. People in the stands scattered all over the place as gunshots rang throughout the area. I did not get up from the ground until my coach came over and told me everything was safe and luckily no one was hurt. My teammates and I gathered around the dugout to talk about what had happened. I told them I was not scared at all and showed them I was brave, but deep inside I was scared and I felt my legs shivering. That day made a huge impact on my life because I do not want to live in a neighborhood where gunshots are being fired at a baseball game and where kids can be killed or injured. By living in this neighborhood, of Pasadena, and having friends and family that are supportive made me realize that I want to succeed and to do better for myself. To get myself out of Pasadena by earning a college degree and getting an entry level job position. I want to live in a neighborhood where there is no graffiti on the walls and no gunshots being fired on a daily basis. In the retrospect these memories have made me appreciate the little things that life has to offer and have kept me going in the positive and not in the negative direction where it can ruin my life in the process.
The Collapse of the Twin Towers Part IV: Can the Conspiracy Theorists debunk this? Photographic evidence proves beyond a doubt that floors sagged, pulling perimeter columns in. An event some conspiracy sites suggest never happened. With the fire proofing blown off, the fire only needed as little as 600 degrees C to deform the naked truss steel. Conspiracy theorists point to the UL tests which show the trusses sagged but never fail to say the building should have stood. But what conspiracy theorists don't tell you is that the test was done with a minimum of fire proofing on the trusses. The test was never meant to find out what caused the truss to fail. It was testing the fire proofing to see if it was up to code. The 1968 New York City building code - the code that the towers were intended but not required to meet when they were built required a two-hour fire rating for the floor system. Shyam Sunder, lead investigator of the NIST WTC investigation, explained that the four laboratory tests provide only a means for evaluating the relative fire resistance rating of the floor systems under standard fire conditions and according to accepted test procedures. Sunder cautioned, "These tests alone cannot be used to determine the actual performance of the floor systems in the collapse of the WTC towers. However, they are already providing valuable insight into the role that the floors may have played in causing the inward bowing of the perimeter columns minutes before both buildings collapsed." "The fire conditions in the towers on 9-11 were far more extreme than those to which floor systems in standard U.S. fire rating tests are subjected," Sunder said to a group that gathered to watch yesterday's final test at Underwriters Laboratories (UL) in Northbrook, Ill. "Our investigation's final assessment of how the floor system performed in the WTC fires also must consider factors such as the combustible fuel load of the hijacked jets, the extent and number of floors involved, the rate of the fire spread across and between floors, ventilation conditions, and the impact of the aircraft-damaged towers' ability to resist the fire," Sunder said http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2004/08/040829130757.htm This is more evidence conspiracy theorists are being dishonest when they point to these tests and suggest the building should not have collapsed. They KNOW this because this is old news. So the fire expands the naked truss steel and it pushes against the perimeter columns. At this early stage the perimeter columns are strong enough to resist the expansion and cause the expanding truss to sag. Computer simulation of expanding truss pushing out on a perimeter column and sagging As the fires moved on to find new sources of fuel (Desks, seats, paper, plastic, etc..) the expanded truss cools and contracts. This contraction happened over a period of time and over many floors. This is a very important point, because had it only been one floor contracting the perimeter may not have buckled as much. If a floor sags, it pulls both the perimeter columns and core columns toward the center of the floor. Because the core columns are stronger than the perimeter, the perimeter is the side that gets pulled in. There are plenty of photographs from every angle which show the slow progression of sagging of trusses and bowing perimeter columns. It would be impossible for the NIST or anyone else to fabricate the photos. It was one of the most photographed and videoed events in history. It would be easy to prove the NIST is involved in a mass murder if they doctored photos. Yet this is exactly what some conspiracy theorists suggest. Other conspiracy theorists say it's an optical illusion created by heat. But it would be impossible for this illusion (Heat/Light refraction) to happen only to one side of the building even when that side of the building cooled. Light refraction changes with the position of the person looking at it. So no two cameras would have shown the same degree of bowing. Here conspiracy theorists seem to want it both ways: they want to say light refracted due to the heat, yet they also say the fires were almost out toward the end when the bow was greatest. They need to have it both ways but they can't. This illusion also happens to be where the collapse started. A "scholar" says the bow was due to the core columns being cut. He points to the movement of the north tower antenna which some originally thought moved first. But this was not the case.. "Photographic and videographic records were reviewed to identify structurally-related events. Where possible, all four faces of a building were examined for a given event or time period to provide complete understanding of the building response. Observations from a single vantage point can be misleading and may result in incorrect interpretation of events. For instance, photographic and videographic records taken from due north of the WTC 1 collapse appeared to indicate that the antenna was sinking into the roof (McAllister 2002). When records from east and west vantage points were viewed, it was apparent that the building section above the impact area tilted to the south as the building collapsed." (NIST 2005) The "scholar" is starting from a false premise and building a case around it. Something the "scholar" suggests the NIST did. Putting this irony aside, the real evidence that the core did not move over time is the fact that the other faces showed no signs of the core moving until the collapse. Before I continue, it's important to distinguish between the events of the moment of collapse and the gradual progression of bowing of the perimeter columns. I am talking about the gradual progression of bowing. The NIST does not disagree with the tilting of the top sections of the towers and that the core was a major part of that. Where the "scholar" differs is that it was the core and not the trusses which caused the tilt/collapse. He needs it to be the core to explain away the bowed columns and still entertain the thought of thermite/thermate. If the core tilts, pulling the columns in at the impact level in, you would see an equal but opposite reaction from the opposite face. If the east perimeter columns were being pulled in because the core columns tilt, the west would show signs of being pushed out. The top would also tilt, not just when it collapsed but over time as the perimeter is being pulled in. Think about it, the core is connected to all the floors above the impact point. If the trusses were in pristine or even merely slightly sagged condition as suggested by this "scholar", and the core and not the trusses pulled in the perimeter columns, then the core would have tilted pushing out the columns on the roof level. Why is there no sign of this happening? Because it didn't. It's just another attempt at throwing the kitchen sink in to explain this evidence. Why is this important? Because no believable scenario exists to explain explosives or thermite creating this effect. NONE. How would thermite/thermate bow columns over time? It simply ignites and burns chaotically. So we're left with an effect which looks EXACTLY like the fire sagged the trusses, then contracted and pulled in the columns with no evidence of thermite or a credible scenario which would explain the drawn out event. A helicopter pilot saw this about 10 min before collapse but had no way of communicating that to the people in charge. A bow is clearly visible on the right hand perimeter wall as trusses sag and pull in the perimeter columns. The photo below is NOT from the NIST report. The photo below is from the NIST report. Collapse begins a minute later. View from another angle, not from the NIST report... Below is a video from the moment the columns begin quickly buckling inward. Note there is no ejection of debris characteristic in Controlled Demolition before the event. Only after the building begins to fall do we see the debris from the pancaking floors eject outward as the floors force air out of the windows. http://wtc.nist.gov/pubs/Media_Public_Briefing_040505_final.pdf Start at page 36 of the above NIST briefing. You can see photographic evidence that the building was pulled in. Not just one floor, but across many. Note how the sagging floors pull the outer column in. There is enough visual evidence that the trusses were pulling the outer columns in. If you think a bomb blew up the building, you have to explain how a bomb pulled the walls inward well before they fell... Starting with the moment the plane hit, survivors said the doors wouldn't open because the building was so out of alignment. The impacts alone BENT THE 110 STORY BUILDINGS. That building was made to sway. I grew up in NY and have been to that building many times. When the wind was strong you could feel the building sway. I can't imagine an impact that would cause the building to sway enough to knock it out of center. A humanly unimaginable energy. That alone should weaken the building. Once you start to pile on the fire, unique construction, sagging trusses, and shifted load distribution, it's not hard to imagine enough of these factors adding up to cause a collapse. Factors which weren't known at the time. NIST’s computer model even took the wind shifting into account. "It is impressive that the World Trade Center towers held up as long as they did after being attacked at full speed by Boeing 767 jets, because they were only designed to withstand a crash from the largest plane at the time: the smaller, slower Boeing 707. And according to Robertson, the 707's fuel load was not even considered at the time. Engineers hope that answering the question of exactly why these towers collapsed will help engineers make even safer skyscrapers in the future. ASCE will file its final report soon, and NIST has been asked to conduct a much broader investigation into the buildings' collapse." http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/wtc/minu-trans.html Sources: http://www.debunking911.com
Water proof case for DSLR camera? Hi, I am looking for a high quality waterproof, fireproof case that can have a lock put on it. I AM NOT looking for a clear one that you can take pictures for, I am almost thinking more along the lines of a safe for it, one that can be sealed air tight, opaque, can be locked (prefferably) with foam padding inside to protect it. I am not looking for one of those clear thiings meant for uderwater photography, I want one to keep it safe safe, from dropping it and breakage, water, fire, ect. ect. It would be for transporting it and I would take it out to use it. That is what I am thinking... Thanks.
Does anyone know Where you can purchase replacement asbestos siding? I own a 100 yr old house and in the 50's the owner at the time put up asbestos siding. I would like to keep the siding,..I like the way it look. I have researched all about it and it is safe as long as none are broken. Also my house is insured as a brick house because the siding is "fire-proof". Anyway, I have a few I need to replace, and we are also removing a window and need replacement pieces of siding to put in the place the window was. Does Anyone know where I can get replacement siding for the places i need to replace? I know you can purchase fiber-cement ones, and I've heard of the company GAF which sells weatherside. It really does look like what I need, but does anyone know where you can actually buy it? It doesn't say on the website Sorry if I didn't make myself clear enough,..sometimes I have that problem because I ramble, lol, but I know you can't get actual asbestos anymore. I am looking for the fiber-cement ones, i just don't know who sells them.

What do you think about the Christians stealing the Goddess Brigit and making her a Saint? BRIGIT OF THE CELTS ------------------- Brigit was one of the great Triple Goddesses of the Celtic people. She appeared as Brigit to the Irish, Brigantia in Northern England, Bride in Scotland, and Brigandu in Brittany. Many legends are told about Brigit. Some say that there are three Brigits : one sister in charge of poetry and inspiration who invented the Ogham alphabet, one in charge of healing and midwifery, and the third in charge of the hearth fire, smithies and other crafts. This catually indicates the seperate aspects of her Threefold nature and is a neat division of labor for a hard-working goddess. Brigit was probably originally a Sun Goddess, and a charming story of her birth is that she was born at sunrise and a tower of flame burst from the forehead of the new born Goddess that reached from Earth to Heaven. It was likely She who inspired the line in the famous Song of Amergin: "I am a fire in the head." Her penchant for smithcraft led to her association by the Romans with Minerva/Athena. As a warrior Goddess, She favored the use of the spear or the arrow. Indeed, various interpetations of her name exist including, "Bright Arrow," "The Bright One," "the Powerful One" and "The High One," depending upon the region and the dialect. As a Goddess of herbalism, midwifery and healing She was in charge of Water as well as Fire. I don't beleive that anyone has ever counted all teh vast number of sacred wells and springs named after or dedicated to this Goddess. A story is told of how two lepers came to one of her sacred springs for healing and She instructed one Leper to wash the other. The skin of the freshly bathed man was cleansed of the disease and Brigit told the man who was healed to wash the man who had bathed him so that both men would be whole. The man who was healed was now too disgusted to touch the other Leper and would have left him, but Brigit herself washed the leper and struck down the other arrogant fellow with leperousy once more before he could leave. Offerings to the watery Brigit were cast into the well in the form of coins or, even more ancient, brass or gold rings. Other sacrifices were offered where three streams came together. Her cauldron of Inspiration connected her watery healing aspect with her fiery poetic aspect. Brigit is clearly the best example of the survival of a Goddess into Christian times. She was cannonized by the Catholic church as St. Brigit and various origins are given to this saint. The most popular folktale is that She was midwife to the Virgin Mary, and thus was always inviked by women in labor. The more official story was that She was a Druid's daughter who predicted the coming of Christianity and then was baptised by St. Patrick. She became a nun and later an abbess who founded the Abbey at Kildare. The Christian Brigit was said to have had the power to appoint the bishops of her area, a strange role for an abbess, made stranger by her requirement that her bishops also be practicing goldsmiths. Actually, the Goddess Brigit had always kept a shrine at Kildare, Ireland, with a perpetual flame tended by nineteen virgin priestesses called Daughters of the Flame. No male was ever allowed to come near it; nor did those women ever consort with men. Even their food and other supplies were brought to them by women of the nearby village. When Catholicism took over in Ireland, the shrine became a convent and the priestesses became nuns but the same traditions were held and the eternal flame was kept burning. Their tradition was that each day a different priestess/nun was in charge of the sacred fire and on the 20th day of each cycle, teh fire was miraculously tended by Brigit Herself. There into the 18th century, the ancient song was sung to her : "Brigit, excellant woman, sudden flame, may the bright fiery sun take us to the lasting kingdom." For over a thousand years, the sacred flame was tended by nuns, and no one knows how long before that it had been tended by the priestesses. In 1220 CE, a Bishop became angered by the no-males policy of the Abbey of St. Brigit of Kildare. He insisted that nuns were subordinate to priests and therefore must open their abbey and submit themselves to inspection by a priest. When they refused and asked for another Abbess or other female official to perform any inspections, the Bishop was incensed. He admonished them to obediance and then decreed that teh keeping of the eternal flame was a Pagan custom and 6rdered the sacred flame to be extinguished. Even then, She remained the most poular Irish saint along with Patrick. In the 1960's, under Vatican II modernization, it was declared that there was insufficient proof of Brigit's sanctity or even of her historical existance, and so teh Church's gradual pogrom against Brigit was successful at last and She was thus decanonized. It is very difficult to obtain images or even holy cards of ST. Brigit outside of Ireland anymore. Her festival is held on Febuary 1st or 2nd. It corresponds to the ancient Celtic fire festival of Imbolc or Oimelc which celebrated the birthing and freshening of sheep and goats (it really is a Feast of Milk). This festival was Christianized as Candlemas or Lady Day and Her Feast day, La Feill Bhride, was attended by tremendous local celebration and elaborate rituals. Her festival is also called Brigit. Brigit (the Goddess and the Festival) represents the stirring of life again after the dead months of the winter, and her special blessings are called forth at this time. Since She was booted out of teh Church for being Pagan, it is incumbant upon us Pagans to restore Her worship to its former glory especially those of us of Celtic ancestory. Here is an ancient rite to invite Brigit into your home at the time of her Holiday: Clean your hearth thoroughly in teh morning and lay a fire without kindling it, then make yourself a "Bed for Brigid" and place it near the hearth. The bed can be a small basket with covers and tiny pillow added as plain or fancy as you like. If you have no hearth, you can use the stove and put the bed behind it. Then at sundown light a candle rubbed with rosemary oil and invite Brigit into your home and into er bed; use the candle to kindle your hearthfire if possible. Make your own poem to invite Her or use the ancient song mentioned earlier. Let the candle burn at least all night in a safe place. You might even want to begin the custom of keeping the eternal flame; it is a popular custom in some magickal and Wiccan traditions. AFter all, it's up to us now to keep the spirit of Brigit alive and well for the next thousand years at least!!! By Morning Glory Zell from AMARGI Vol I. No.3 Feb. 1st 1989 Used By permission It's a wonder in itself that the Christians have gotten along with their kneejerk rote rot for so long and even when confronted by historical fact. Also, I am sorry the poor things have reading something so long. I suppose that is why they have never read their own Bibles and just repeat the words of their shouters. I'll look through the Lore library and see if I can get some telling info on Astarte to post in Ask.
Are fireproofsafes also waterproof? I'd like to buy a safe over 2cubic feet of storage space. I see that some are fireproof, but most don't state if they're water proof. What are the chances that in a fire, that the contents in the safe will be damaged by the water from a water hose?
9/11 "truth" movement? Why do they do this? They claim that this is proof that the fires weren't hot enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvYqRTPtrNc Let us suppose for the moment that there really is some unfortunate person, whoever he or she is, in the photo standing in the hole made by the aircraft. Troofers routinely claim that the photo proves there was no fire inside the building. But then why would anyone stand, literally with their toes dangling over an 800 foot fatal drop unless there was something inside the building that scared them even more than the thought of slipping and falling to their deaths? When people are trapped in burning buildings, they usually seek two things; daylight and fresh air. They will follow these things regardless of where they lead. Edna Cintron, or whoever that was, is standing at the edge of a guaranteed killer drop because that's the only place she felt was safe. Unfortunately, for the liars of the so-called "truth" movement, that building was ON FIRE The STEEL DIDNT HAVE TO MELT. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU.
what do i do with this problem PLEASE HELP? ok.... we are royaly screwed over this month...someone stole over 600 dollars from braums tonight and my hubby is positive who it was (he saw the safe code and was back there alone) but the kid left before cole went in the back to do the money....and if he reports it then hell get fired also since it was his shift... (hes the manager)(everyone on that shift will get fired, since they dont have physicall proof that this kid took it) well this means that cole has to take it out of OUR bank acount and put it back before the regional manager finds out...(his boss knows already and said she can LEND him 50 dollars...SHES THE ONE THAT HIRED THIS %$# IN THE FIRST PLACE!) so there goes our car peyment (guess i wont have this car much longer... ;D) and half of our rent payment (which means we are getting evicted ;D) UUUUGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D oh and by the way...everyone who says report it i understand and agree but if he does he CAN get fired because its HIS job to watch out for things like this and since he was on the floor as amnager then HES responsible for the money
