We built a box inside with a doggy door for him to go in and out of and we have straw on the inside. I was looking for a fire safe way to help him stay warm. He is a pincher so he has a thin coat.
Is any one else having the same problem with fire safe cigarettes? These new fire safe cigarettes suck. When I smoke them, the tobacco barely burns and it's mostly just the paper that burns. It's like I am smoking just paper. Is anyone else having the same problem? People who want to say smoking is bad should just save it for a relevant question, thank you. I am clearly only asking other SMOKERS' opinions.

What materials would make my home fire safe? I recently purchased a wood burning stove with the intent to warm my house this winter but I am afraid to put it in the house until I am sure it won't burn the house down. If anyone knows this term and has any suggestions to better fire proof my project, please let me know!

What is the chemical used to make "fire-safe" cigarrettes? In 3 states, including CA where I live, they have tanted the paper of cigarrettes with a chemical to cause it to go out if not puffed on regularly. This is to prevent the old fall -asleep-with-a smoke-lit-and-set-the-house-onfire type of deal. The only thing is, the chemical makes you sick and stays on your tongue like battery acid. Ya, no need to comment, those who say just quit. Please, that's obvious, just want to know what the hell they're poisoning us with.

Does anybody's Fire&Water Safe smell or get damp? We have the BRINKS Fire & Water safes and put random papers in there, pictures, special envelopes. Anyways, when we open them, they smell really bad- they smelled when we first got them, so it must be some special chemical. Everything inside feels damp. Envelopes are cold and damp and really bendy. It's really weird- cuz they are designed to keep water out, and it's like they're wet. Any ideas? Oh yeah, and the stack of pictures in there are getting stuck together. Nothing tearing or visibly sticking them together, but I have to pull them apart.

What's a pet-safe method of killing fire ants? We have just discovered fire ants moving into our backyard, and we need them gone. We have a border collie who uses the backyard as a bathroom and generally just loves to roam, play, and sunbathe there. Obviously, the fire ants are not only dangerous to us, but to her as well. Is there a product or a method of killing fire ants that will be safe for our dog? Someone bought ant killer bait, but it's not safe for pets and I just don't feel comfortable with using it at all.
Is Ohio a "Fire Safe Cigarette" state? Do specialty smokes have to be FSC too? I smoke Marlboro Smoothes and have noticed a big difference in how they burned and tasted. Searched it up and have come to a few questions I can't solve. I also have found out that the FSC cigarette is a great deal worse for you than a normal cigarette. If it is an FSC state, are little cigars and other specialty smokes required to have it? If it is not, what brands are definitely not FSC?

Question for smokers: What is your experience with Fire-Safe Cigarettes? I quit using them because they make me short of breath. I never had this problem before these things and most of my friends report heavy coughing. I'm using Swedish Snus (clean chewing tobacco) until they recall these things. And please no 'quit smoking' lectures... Smoking is bad, I know. Kathleen - Shut up, stupid,
Why would tobacco companies not push fire safe cigarettes? This is mostly for execs at cigarette companies. Why would you not push cigarettes that go out after a period of not being inhaled? Because if they didn't burn so quickly we wouldn't have to buy them so often? I smoke. I also know that truth to cigarette companies is like holy water on, I don't know, Damien from "The Omen." Still, I would like some responses. Even from the jerks that are bound to reply because they have nothing better to do. Thanks. Actually Lordkel... saltpeter is one of the biggest chemicals in cigarettes that cause them to burn so fast. They would need to leave that out, and not add anything to cause it to burn slower

If your son had a learning disability like ADD or Aspergers would you let him pull the fire alarm in a fire if you were safe? This question is answered if you were far away from the fire. They say to pull the alarm and not call 911. Any personal advice? How would you know if your son wanted to pull it would you go with him? What would you say before he pulls the alarm? Would it be normal for your son to read the directions on the alarm out loud? How would you offer advice or a helping hand? Would you offer him advice how to pull the handle if so how? Is it safe to use a microwave after a metal cup has caught on fire in it? My daughter, in her infinite wisdom, put a metal travel mug in the microwave and it caught on fire. The entire cup was in flames within the microwave but the oven itself did not catch on fire. After cleaning out the microwave, the only apparent residual effect is coating on the top of the inside is seriously flaking. In other words, the outer layer of the paint/enamel is mostly gone and/or flaking off. Is it safe to use this microwave? Thanks.

Is "blow in" home insulation to be blown in between floors safe from smoldering, or fire? The house is 90 years old, has wide space between attic floor and 2nd floor room ceilings, into which this insulation could be blown in. What dangers if any, like fire, combustion, smoldering or smoke exist? There is no heating to the attic, and lower floors are heated by hot water radiators. But there are lights in the attic, single lite bulbs totaling 8 to lite the attic area. Two chimneys pass thru the attic to the roof.
