Is it safe to buy digital camera from on-line sify shopping? Will they send new or refurbished one?

why is there a difference of 2 to 3 thousand between MRP and on-line shopping prices? I know the warranty is from vendor/dealer and not from the manufacturer. Apart from this, Are there any loopholes? Will there be any other hidden costs?
