Home security emergency?

Hi, so my mom did something really stupid today without thinking. Some weird guy went door to door and was asking people about their security systems and home security. but the way he acted was very suspicious, and my mom told him some dangerous stuff. Whats a way to keep us safe tonight. We have a sliding glass door, windows, and regular doors. please help, we are very worried

1. you a broom stick to keep the sliding window close keep the windows close and the door dead bolted and sleep with smith and wesson or ruger. and keep one eye open. he may not hit tonight he may of been scoping out the neighbor hood for a future hit.
