Is ipod copy expert safe to use?

Our home computer's internet crashed, so we had to wipe it to get the computer to work again. Now all my itunes data is gone, except for on my ipod. Ipod copy expert says it will help me keep my itunes files, i dont know if it is safe to download or use. Sorry if i sound rude n all, but i know what the software does. I just want to know if the software is safe, in terms of things like viruses.
