How do I start my computer in safe mode?
I have Windows XP Home Edition w/SP2. On other systems I can access the Safe Mode option through the shut down menu. This computer I can't. I don't have a dialog box to select from. Just Log Off, Turn off, and Restart. HELP!

- When your computer boots up, before the windows starts loading, hit the F8 key, it will bring up boot menu, select safe mode from here. If you are not sure when do do it, just bash it 'till it comes up ;]
- press f8 after the bios menu but before windows loads. It should then show the boot menu or the select OS or memory test menu. If it shows the select OS and memory test then push f8 again.
