Is it safe to use Digital Camera while a Aircraft taking off / landing

- Unless you have some sort of secret bomb on your Digital, i'm sure it'll be safe. But, you're not allowed to use any electronic devices on the plane, period. So do not use it while the aircraft is taking action. :)
- In the safety demonstration videos that all electronic devices must emained turned off during take off and landing, that's to avoid interference with aircraft navigation and communication systems. If you are using a simple disposable camera there's no problem with that, is there? You can carry a digital camera in your carry on luggage, the security agents won't bother you with that, as long as during taxi, take off and landing, it remains turned off and you don't touch it. Keep in mind that if the F/A tells you to turn it off, it is for YOUR safety.
- Obviously, I've tried on several occasions to use my mobile for calls and believe me, it's safe.
- It's safe, although you're not technically allowed to.
- of course a digital camera is NOT electronic equipment since it uses battery I have used my digital camera and have taking photos while we were taking off (but you also will have be seating in a window seat to take photos out of the window!)
- i've flown a few times and took pics while flying landing take off and in air. no flight attendent ever asked me to put it away or anything. it's safe because there not wireless like a cell or laptop so no signal comes from it so therefore no interfering with flight communication signals. oh and aqua was probaly being sarcastic in their answer. you can't use a phone during flight because the wireless signal can interfere with flight communication signal which isn't good. keep your cell phone shut off or in airplane mode.
- As per laws prevailing in India, it is illegal to take photographs from a commercial airliner. If caught apart from confistication of the camera, priosn/penalty will be levied.
- Qantas allows digital cameras to be used at any time provided it is battery powered. Not sure about the other airlines though. Check the fineprint on the safety card.
- Yes, just take your pics. The worst thing that can happen is that the flight attendant tells you to shut it off.
