How do I make paper documents digital?
I don't have a scanner, but I need digital copies of test scores and other paper documents in order to apply for jobs. Can I take the documents to somewhere like Staples and have them make a pdf file? There is a lot of personal information on the documents that I don't really want to share with anyone other than people who will give me a job. Is there a safer way to do it?

- You can probably go somewhere like kinkos and save them to a flash card yourself.
- A way to do it is scan the papers and convert the scanned files to pdf. You can do this with 'doPDF Free'.
- Does any family member or friend have a scanner? If so ask them to do it. Is it important that your documents are in PDF format? Or is it just an electronic document you need to send? Very few non-professional people have the ability to scan to PDF files. To overcome this you could photograph your documents with a digital camera and send them to wherever you want as a Jpeg file. Nearly all companies will accept a JPeg image of your docs. as all they do is print them off.
- Hello again... you seem to be my favorite damsel in distress. I suppose thats why I need to answer you all the time.. anywhoo.. You need to use a scanner. Try a local public library, you might be able to use the scanner yourself thereby safeguarding your privacy. Or try Kinkos, Staples, Office Max.. even some local corner stores have scanners and fax. Or just find a friend or neighbor who can help you out. Good luck. PS: why no e-mail? would like to say hi sometime :)
