Is CheckoutFree really free?

So here's the story. I want to download a free version of a Clue computer game, because my CD-Rom version finally stopped working after many years. Yes, I know it's geeky, but I love Clue and no one ever wants to play it :p I found a free download with good reviews on Shockwave, a safe game website and I know people who have used it. There is an offer that is to use "CheckoutFree" which will give me the game for free off the website, but there's a catch: I have to "try or buy" another product. Is there anyone who has used "CheckoutFree" before who could tell me if I can just "try" another product rather than actually buy it? I want this game really badly! Here's the site: http://www.shockwave.com/home.jsp Here's the game I want: http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/clueclassic.jsp Oh, also. If you know a different site with a safe Clue download, let me know :p !

  1. Yes, CheckoutFree works was advertised. If you are willing to sign up for a trial or make a purchase from any of the advertisers, you will receive a code which unlocks the game. Some of the advertiser offers are free, but many have some kind of charge (which you can tell just by reading about the offers). So, if you pick something you were interested in anyway (e.g. a free trial to Netflix, a free Ing Savings account, ringtones, or sending someone flowers), then you end up picking up the game at no extra cost. FYI - CheckoutFree customer service can be reached at 800-826-5183 if you want to talk to a human about it.
