If I'm running Avast Home Edition and on other firewall, is my XP box relatively safe on the internet?

I have Avast On-Access Scanner and also Spybot running. Do I need some other firewall or will this provide good enough security for me to general surfing chatting internet work? Thanks for you responses.

2. As long as you have not (and never will) disabled XP's built-in Windows Firewall, you should be fine. Just keep everything updated including Windows Updates from MS.

4. That combo is what I use, but I still have to run Spybot manually on a regular basis or I slow down a lot. Spybot keeps trying to turn on my Windows Firewall for me, and I would love to turn it on, but my wife works remotely & Her company has issues with it...
