House got broken into!!?

So my home gets broken into for the 2nd time!! I don't know how they keep getting in thru but I'm for sure it's from my sliding glass doors! They didn't take anything! Andmy roommate was home when they were there! He turned on the lights to scare them but nothing! I don't have a lot of money for a good adt or brinks alarm or a dog. Anybody know something cheap but good? I won't go home till I feel safe.

1. i'm guessing mase or a firearm. also they have something that mimics the sound of a barking dog...
2. Put a stick in the track of the sliding door; therefore the door won't open....
3. yeah what apple said. put a stick there and maybe make it look like your home with some lights on real light ones so you don't kill your energy bill.
4. There is a "As Seen on TV" product for $19.99 that you can buy, in most stores like Bed Bath and Beyond that sell As Seen on TV products. It is a two piece set you stick one piece on the inside of the door and one on the wall or frame next to the door......when they separate (door opens) this LOUD alarm goes off.......it sounds like a security alarm. It won't shut off until you shut it off (little switch on it). I would try that - until you can afford something better.
