Is it safe to hang christmas lights on a wall with electric tape?

I want to decorate the walls with christmas lights, and I want a safe way to do it without having to drill holes for hooks. PLEASE READ ALSO: Are there any clips/hooks out there that I could use to hang up christmas lights on the walls with out effecting the surface of my walls? Maybe ones that have a surface safe adhesive? Thanks!

1. sure as long as you don't put it over the bulbs...
2. Try pushpins. They make tiny holes. Tape will booger up your walls badly.

4. if tape you must, use strapping tape or that thick plastic box tape. electrical tape will not hold for very long. changes in humidity will affect how it sticks. if push pins,careful...
