Safe to keep motorcycle at home or apartment?

A friend was storing their motorcycle in a back room at our apartment and the landlord told them to move it outside of the apartment because it was unsafe to keep gas in an enclosed area. Is there any truth to that? Is it actually unsafe to keep a motorcycle in an apartment? If you could please put references with your answers, that would be very helpful. Thanks.

1. Yes..........It is very unsafe for the apartment complex as well as for the people that live there.. No reference needed.........gasoline and or gasoline flumes are dangerous and deadly (common knowledge)..
2. The landlord is being a total jerk. Thats not true.
3. While you should not keep gasoline indoors, it is still ok to store a motorcycle indoors. Many people do. Just drain the tank. If it was bad to put a motorcycle indoors, why don't the dealerships go up in flames?
