I just recently got a job with a company there home office is in the Philippines...?

The office I would be working at is a residential office in CA. Its basically someones house. Now I interviewed at a coffee shop, is that normal? And is there any way of knowing the business is legitimate and is it safe?

1. It sounds odd. I worked for some really nice ans really wealthy people who ran their business out of their home but it was upfront and I interviewed there too! There might be an explanation but if something seems fishy - it usually is.
2. You should do some research on the company. Start by typing the name into Google followed by the name of the owner or your employer...and see what you get.
