Anyone have ideas on how to secure a safe when my landlord won't let me drill into the wall or floor?
I would like to make sure that a thief can't just roll in, and move off with my safe using a dolly. But, I cannot secure it to the floor or wall. Any clever ideas?

- This will not be totally secure but better than your “no option” Build yourself a false floor for your closet and bolt it to that….use large fender washers or steel plates on the wood side so the bolts cant just be ripped out. Will it stop a thief completely …no….. but thief’s like to make a quick in and out…. that will deter them ……also if you have a carpeted floor you can run some screws through the false floor and into the real floor ….once removed the screw holes will not be noticeable.
- Chain it to the plumbing? Chain it to a hidden row of cinder blocks? Hide it? In the old days, they used to put the treasure chest into the treasure room, then build up the building so that the doors were too small to remove the chest.
- My land lord told me the same thing, i still bolted it to the floor, right thru the carpet. I did it inside the closet where it wouldn't be to noticeable. When I left I took it with me. It didn't leave any noticeable damage. Besides they replaced the carpet anyways so it didn't matter. A safe is pointless unless it's bolted down.
