my bf and i are going to a show at the electric factory in october were staying at ting the holiday inn in the historical district because according to mapquest its the closest hotel to the venue & were from ohio so its not like we can drive home after the show & ive been reading reviews and such and people have been say theyve had their cars broken into, its not that safe, etc we were planning on walking to and from the venue is this a good idea or should we take a cab both ways? i dont want to drive my car down there if its going to get trashed so what would you suggest?

- I've been to one concert at the Electric Factory. Basically it is not a neighborhood I would want to be stuck in. If you are staying at the hotel I would definitely recommend taking the cab to and from the concert. Always better to be safe than sorry especially if you are not familiar with the area.
- yeah i saw lady gaga there.....its not soo hottt area around it...
- It's not the greatest area but it's not a warzone either....I have parked there over a dozen times for shows without problem....you might get a homeless guy looking for a handout to "watch your car" and there are a few of them excitedly waving you into a parking lot, hustling for that tip. That being said, I would just take the cab, in case you want to head out after the show. There is a bar right next door (Whiskey Dick's I believe) but I would walk east down Spring Garden St to either Finnegan's Wake (3rd & Spring Garden) or hook a right onto 3rd for McFadden's or Buckhead Saloon....both usually have a good crowd.
