How easy and safe are TV wall mounts to install?

We're new at installing TV mounts in our house and are wondering how safe it is? Is it unlikely that they will fall down and rip out part of our wall? Should we hire a professional, or can we do it ourselves?

1. Well you can't mount a TV on just drywall. You got to find the boards behind the drywall or what I call the frame of the wall and hang it on from there. I would suggest getting someone who has done it before. I have seen a TV fall randomly because it didn't support the TV so I would make sure it is well secure. =)
2. If your screws sink into studs it will be fine. Find your studs and screw into them preferably near or at the center. If you don't hit the studs it's going to be disaster.
