Do I have to buy a vault,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?

Do I have to buy a vault to put the casket in for an in ground burial? Or can they just set me in the ground in a casket and no vault?

1. I'm not sure of your state's laws, but many states are now requiring a cement vault, so you will need to check your local laws to find out for sure.
2. A vault is a requirement of the cemetery, no state laws require a vault. Each cemetery has their own rules and regulations, many require a vault. The vault keeps the ground from caving in on the casket and making large depressions in the cemetery grounds. It also provides additional protection to the casket.
