how can i get out of safe mode on my vista home premium computer?

somehow my computer went into safe mode and now i cannot get back to normalcy. i am not a computer whiz so i need some help. thank you. thanks matt; yes i tried shutting down and restarting what i get is a giant e for emachines and on the screen says bios F10 and Bios F2. I tried both several times but dont know which one to use to correct this problem. Can you help?

1. It shouldn't automatically boot into safe mode unless power was cut off to the computer unexpectedly. You have tried restarting right?
