Is coloring your hair at home safe?
I want to dye my hair possibly, im 15, nothing too drastic, but i want to know if those ones your purchase at the store are easy enough to do and figure out and also if they are safe. Also how do you know if the color is going to come out like they show on the box with the color hair you already have?

- Considering that 83% of people who dye their hair do it on their own at home with box color, it's safe to assume that it isn't dangerous to dye your hair at home.
- They have images on the box (or they should/usually do) of natural hair to the dyed colour so you know what it'll turn out like. I've dyed my hair for about 3 years, I'm 17, and i've never had any difficulty figuring out what to do :) Good luck!
- get semi-permanent. it's fun to experiment with hair colors that way - they wash out after about a month and then you can go permanent if you really like that color. the one i use is natural instincts and its great because it doesnt have ammonia and other harmful chemicals that will damage your hair. and if u look at the back of the box it'll tell you what color you should have and what it will make your hair look like if you have that hair color and get that color. good luck and have fun!
- My stepmom does her hair ALL THE TIME at home with a box brand. All you really have to do is follow the directions properly and you will have no problems.
- Its not dangerous BUT be aware that it almost always never comes out to the color thats on the box. Its like playing the mystery game. You probably want to have someone who has experience doing it or it could end in disaster.
