Do you leave your porch light on overnight?

Or do you turn it off when you go to bed? My porch light stays on all night while I sleep and I turn it off in the morning. I thought that was the whole point of having a porch light... to keep your home lit and safe overnight. I've noticed though, that many people seem to turn their porch light off when they go to bed. So... what do you do?

2. it comes on automatically & goes off when sun come up
3. if someone or somthing is near it the light will turn on
4. I only leave my porch light on at night if I have somebody coming over at night or if I am out late
