Is ALOT HOME safe for your laptop/computer?

I went online yesterday to look under google maps and this word Alot came on there and i clicked on it. i was only lookin for directions and maps.. Alot might be causing me to have a virus on my laptop and i cant get it off here. i went to my control panel and it doesnt say the word alot on there where i can safely remove it. i just got this message on my screen showing i have viruses again. i just got this out of the shop too. it had previous viruses on it. i have AVG9.0 that scans my laptop daily and shows no threats either so what could be the problem?

1. Never heard of that before. Safe option format. Reboot. Virus gone :D Start again. Be very careful what sites you go on ;)
