what is the purpose of everest home edition?

I downloaded it becasue my computer kept shutting down. It seems to work I'm just not sure what the purpose of it is. How does it help your computer? Is it safe?

1. Everest home edition is to evaluate the performance of your computer, memory, etc. It doesn't have anything to do with preventing your computer from randomly shutting down. If your computer randomly is turning off, it is most likely a hardware issue.
2. It's just a diagnostic program...tells you basically everything you'd ever need to know about your PC...but it doesn't help your PC in any way. Yes it's safe...i'm using it right now for stability testing and temperature readings.
3. Everest is a small program that lists all devices in your system, it does not troubleshoot anything, merely gives you a list of devices installed. Yes, it is a safe program. It is very useful if you need to download drivers for any device, as it will tell you the exact model of the device, so you know which driver to download.
