id like to know how i can fix my system restore for windows xp home edition?

This is the message i get over and over again when i try to open system restore.Doesnt matter how many times i restart pc either. "systen restore is not able to protect your computer.Please restart your computer,and then run system restore again."nothing helps,not even safe mode...plz advice,help

1. try re formatting your computer using your windows xp cd. if you don't have one then take it to a pro for diagnosis or buy windows xp from a store.
2. are you sure it is not disabled, have you checked?
3. Go to START>RIGHT CLICK MY COMPUTER>PROPERTIES>SYSTEM RESTORE TAB> make sure there is not a check mark in the box a TURN OFF SYSTEM RESTORE ON ALL DRIVES. If there is not a check mark in the box then run a Anti-Virus and Anti-spy scan. Virus and Trojans commonly deny your access to system restore. Go to this windows site for the proper procedure to do this. 4. You may want to scan your system for virus or other culprit!
