How do I remove ceramic tiles in the bathtub area without damaging the wall?
The tiles and grout are in beautiful shape, but they are pink with black trim so I want to replace them with something more updated. The problem is that the walls are half inch plasterboard. I don't want to have to replace the wall after tearing the tiles out. Any safe way to remove the tiles without damaging the wall? Oh...and I'm on a VERY slim budget!

- Well then your in for a lot of wasted time. Unless you like spending 3 weekends removing tile and grout. If you do then here are the steps. First you must scrape the grout out of each joint. Then you need to lightly break the tiles into pieces, and remove. Then you must go back and make repairs to the wall. Then wait for it to dry. Then apply the adhesive and then the tile, then re-grout. This will take you about a month if your bathroom is a 5'x8' and the tiles are only around the shower. Good luck with your project.
