Do you think it's safe to use my home address with an imprisoned pen pal?

The person is in another country, I wouldn't otherwise, but I figure it is a long way away, and with their record they wouldn't be allowed to leave the country any way! What do you think? Or do you know of any other ways (other than a post office box, which costs heaps!)I could safely write to them?

1. umm i suggest u dont u dont have to put ur real address what about email?
2. I wouldn't risk using my real address or that of a friend. People get into this country all the time that have criminal backgrounds. And even if your pen pal never makes it to the US he/she may know or contact someone in the US who would try to contact you. A Post Office box costs maybe $23 for six months -- that is less than four dollars a month and it is sometimes less depending on the post office . I wouldn't call that heaps of money, but if it is out of your reach financially you can try General Delivery. You would have to go to the Post Office to pick up the mail and they only keep it for a limited amount of time, but you wouldn't have to use your home address. If your city/town has more than one Post Office you have to check with your local Post Office to see which office(s) can accept General Delivery. Until recently only one office in each city could receive General Delivery.
