- The safest thing to do would probably be to buy either a flash drive or external hard drive and store it on it. They're pretty cheap, you can get 250GB for under $25 generally.
- Store the photos on your pc harddisk and backup them to one of the external harddisks. Always leave a backup somewhere.. you could also upload your photos to flickr.com so you won't lose your photos even if your PC and harddisks are all stolen O_O That's the safest I can think of for the time being.
- Hide them.. so it wont be visible if you are using windows xp right click on the photo file then go to properties then select hidden , click ok , then the file will appear a bit dimmed or faint.. on your display. After that exit to desktop & go back to the same folder then you'll see that the photo file have disappeared. If you want to find the photo or make it vissible again then go to search from there click all files and folder , then select hidden files & folders then perform a search task.. when the search is complete you will be able to find your photo file.
- I am using Hide Photos program for the photo collection backup. I am storing encrypted container created with Hide Photos on my external WD hard drive.
