How to litter box train my Russian tortoise?

Haha okay so I have a Russian tortoise named Franklin and I want to let him wander around my room when I'm not home (my room is safe for him). My only problem is I don't want him pooping all over my floor. The person I got him from mentioned litter box training. How do I do this?

1. Its more like waterbox training tortoise like to poo in water. if given a shallow easily entered pan they will walk in get a drink and poo. Start out with a bowl in his enclosure he can enter and see if he uses it. some do some dont
