  1. I think you could keep some of the 2nd story curtains open but main floor that can be accessed from someone on ground level, should be closed. If you are away at night, set a few light timers to go on and off at random times. There are timers that will automatically vary the on/off times. You also want you mail and newspapers picked up if away for more than a day or two.
  2. It is better to close the curtains and blinds so no one can look in to see what you have. A thief might see a TV or something that it wants.
  3. In general you want 2 coverings. The sheers or blinds should be drawn. The drapes can stay open during the day unless it's hot. If it's warm out then close the drapes to keep the sun out (it will save on cooling and keep the UV rays off the furniture) it won't look abnormal.
  4. keep them closed what realy works is dump a lot of high powered rifle caseings all around your house. and some on your doorstep too and leave the tv blasting
  5. How do you keep your blinds most of time when you are home? You should keep them that way when you are gone. Personally, I would choose to leave them open. Someone who breaks in can't be seen if the blinds are drawn and if you leave them open and suddenly they are closed and someone notices they know to call the police. This happened to me once. I drove up to a friend's house and the curtains in his kitchen were drawn. He NEVER closed those curtains. Sure enough, someone had broken into the house and closed those curtains so they wouldn't be seen.
  6. Keep them closed. The world does'nt need to know what your house on the inside looks like.
  7. No do not close all the blinds, and if key word here if your gonna be away for an extended period of time leave the T V on!
