Does anyone else think that common burial practices are kind of morbid?
I've always been around people who think that anything besides a standard burial is just morbid and not okay, but I'm wondering if others think the opposite. It seems kind of strange to me that we, as a culture, preserve the dead, lay them out in lead-lined caskets and bury them in cement vaults. The idea of fields upon fields of individually encased remains that have been left to decompose seems a bit morbid. Am I alone in this?

- Everything to do with death is morbid
- ditto Sarah
- i agree don't like the idea of being consumed by insects lying in a coffin i will be cremated my ashes spread in the sea there is no more space left for burial
- Cremation is the best way.
- Which is why we cremate in my family. None of us want to be put in a box and buried underground. Also kinda morbid, seeing as we're taking our loved ones and turning them into ash. But anything involving death is morbid to be honest.
