Does anyone else think that common burial practices are kind of morbid?

I've always been around people who think that anything besides a standard burial is just morbid and not okay, but I'm wondering if others think the opposite. It seems kind of strange to me that we, as a culture, preserve the dead, lay them out in lead-lined caskets and bury them in cement vaults. The idea of fields upon fields of individually encased remains that have been left to decompose seems a bit morbid. Am I alone in this?

3. i agree don't like the idea of being consumed by insects lying in a coffin i will be cremated my ashes spread in the sea there is no more space left for burial
4. Cremation is the best way.
5. Which is why we cremate in my family. None of us want to be put in a box and buried underground. Also kinda morbid, seeing as we're taking our loved ones and turning them into ash. But anything involving death is morbid to be honest.
