Safes that destroy their contents if broken into?

On cop and heist shows you sometimes see safes that have water compartments or other kinds of protections inside, so that if someone forces their way in, the contents will be ruined and therefore kept out of the would-be thief's hands. Are those real, and if so, what are they called?

1. That's a good question. I tried researching but couldn't find such a safe. Since a safe's purpose is to protect the contents, if the contents were destroyed that would defeat the purpose of the safe.
