Can a wall furnace be left unwatched?

I rent and I have a couple of wall furnaces running on natural gas. Is it safe to leave them unwatched while I sleep or am our for the day? I already have anything combustable far away from it and a carbon monoxide/fire detector nearby. Both units have a thermostat. Of course I mean can they be left alone safely.

  1. I never would trust anything gas powered to be left by itself.
  2. Your best bet here would be to call the mfg. and ask their opinion since they know their own product best. You can get all kinds of answers to this question but go to the horses mouth for the safest answer. We had a wall furnace for years, in our living room/dining room combo, but never left them when we were not home. I*m thinking a thermostat would regulate them , but why chance it?
  3. you should read the manual and get an expert's opinion however be sure to do maintanace normal and also check it (meaning look over it) to make sure to catch anything that might be 'out of place' early
  4. Set the thermostats to the temp you want and forget about them. They will be fine.
  5. I would turn them off when you leave your apt. Never know it might get to hot and catch the wall on fire.
  6. They should be just as safe as any other furnace. I had one for many years in my place, it was very good.
