Where in Canada, is the safes (fewer crime rates) to live in Canada?
Also, what about BC? I may be thinking to move so I was wondering where in Canada is the safest, fewer crime rates to live in Canada. Thanks

- The farthest north in Canada would be the safest. Sadly this is because nobody lives there. Actually u would only have to go about 50 miles past the border.
- Actually BarNone, the farthest north in Canada has the highest crime rates Nunavut has the highest crime rates in Canada, followed by the Northwest Territories and the Yukon, where crime rates are all over 100% higher than the rest of Canada The safest statistically is Prince Edward Island and Ontario, both are more than 20% safer than average
- the smaller towns not close to the borders.. they are quite quiet and peacful , i hear that most people dont even lock their doors in towns like that... i cant think of any for bc, u will have to look it up, but i know the towns in canada a pretty good no matter which part of canada
- Tough call. I live in the Yukon, and many homes don't even have locks on their doors. There is very little actual crime, but, per capita, it looks high, due to the low population. The Maritimes would also have less crime overall. Smaller places tend to have much less than larger ones as well. But, nowhere in Canada is really bad for crime at all.
- I live in Victoria, British Columbia. Victoria is the capital of British Columbia, however it is not the biggest city. The biggest city in British Columbia is Vancouver. Victoria has been rated by various magazines and newspapers as the best place to live in Canada due to a number of factors including it's low crime rate. Victoria is so safe that I can walk around downtown at 3 am, talk to strangers, and nothing would happen to me. I'm a 17 year old girl. It is a great place to have a family because it is so safe. My family never locks the door to our house and my parents barely ever worry about me. The transit system is great, Victoria is known as one of the warmest places in Canada, it is known for it's beautiful gardens, and there is an ocean. There are also about 5 really good private schools and a couple good public schools. I only realized how safe Victoria really is when I moved to Mexico as an exchange student. My whole way of thinking had to change and it took me awhile to acutally believe the locals when they told me I couldn't walk around alone or take the bus. I thought they were just being over-protective, but now I know it's just because Victoria is such a safe place to live. I love it!
- Vancouver
- I'm currently studying criminology in Canada. The city with the lowest rate of violent crime is Quebec City, Quebec. And if you don't speak french Guelph, Ontario has the second lowest rate.
