- Definitely remove it or do a system restore to a date before the program was downloaded. It apparently can damage your computer. You can download other antivirus programs from www.cnet.com. Your mother also may have given personal and/or financial information to the scammers who provided it.
- Delete it right away. If it asks you to buy anything, say no. Download Microsoft Security Essentials and run a full scan. http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/mse.aspx
- Restart your computer in the safe mode. Tap the F8 button while your computer is starting up to get into the safe mode. Download Malwarebytes to a flash drive and rename it to explorer.exe. Then launch explorer.exe in order to install Malwarebytes' Anti-malware. Once Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is installed, navigate to your Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder and locate the mbam.exe in there and rename it to explorer.exe. Now, run the program. If this program works for you and you want to keep it, I suggest using the paid version. It is one of the best security program for your computer. Just remember to remove any other security software because they may interfere with one another and cause more problems.
