Is it safe to run an Aux cord from your computer to home stereo?
I have an Aux. cord running form the headphone jack in my computer running into my home stereo receiver. The sound is great but I'm wondering if there's a chance it will blow the sound card on the mobo...? Awesome, thanks you both. I'm only worried about the computer haha If the receiver goes, I'm due for a new one anyways.

- Yes thats fine, I use a 3.5mm stereo jack plug to 2 x phono plugs lead from the computer to my amplifier works real good. I listen to a lot of internet radio stations and enjoy the music at full sound quality.
- No, it will be fine. Headphone output level is similar to line input level. There is an impedance mismatch (and actually the receiver input has the greater chance of being damaged since a headphone output has the lower impedance of the two devices and possibly too high a level), but I've done this on many different systems over the years and never blown a receiver or sound card. If it sounds distorted, lower the computer's volume control. Otherwise, it will work fine.
