Is it safe to bring my bong from the UK to the USA through carry on?

Recently purchased a bong of approximately 11 inches in London and it would mean the world to me if i could take it back home to California. It's completely clean, implying i have yet to smoke from it and it can either go into my carry on or luggage, i have plenty of room i just need to know which is safest. I've bounced around the internet for a few weeks now looking for an answer to my question and I've only found mixed reviews. So finally i decided to ask for myself, has anybody else tried to transport a bong from the UK to the USA? I'd greatly appreciate some feedback :)

3. I don't even know what a "Bong" is! OK - just googled it - I would say be prepared to be sniffed furiously by large police dogs at the airport!
4. If it fits onto your hand luggage, or can be well protected in your checked in luggage, there is no reason why you can't. People buy these in places like Tunisia and Morocco as souvenirs. Just don't use it before or during the flight!
