We dig up gold and then bury it in vaults. Why then do we put diamonds on show?

Gleam for me Where do diamonds and pearls shine most? Is it round the neck of my pretty host? Or were they better in the ground and lost? Who has suffered and paid the cost? Where do diamonds and pearls shine most? On a winter's day, in the gleaming frost!

1. The worst thing humans can do is put value on physical things. The only things that are of value are created or understood within the mind.
2. the sparkle in ones eye is by far more becoming to me than a million diamonds or rubies
3. Do you think that every diamond that has ever been dug up is on display? Believe me, the worlds producers of diamonds keep a HELLUVA lot of stones in vaults. Keeping them OUT of circulatoion helps them drive up the prices of those stones they do release. And, why is it that you are disregarding all that gold jewelry haning on people's necks, ears, wrists, fingers and other body parts? Rhyming "most" and "frost?" Kinda weak.
4. I love it, really good idea, I like the way to form the sentences, although my one critique is rhyming most and frost together. Other than that, I loved it, awesome job. 5. Diamonds are good conductors of electricity, valuable` to computer processing. I do not know how to do this, hence diamonds hold little value to me. I was proud to show my scars, ashamed to receive ridiculously expensive and useless gifts. I would be happier with a lovely geode than a diamond ring. I cried when they threw out my pieces of wood yet uncarved but I moved on realizing there might be trees out there somewhere beyond... I would also like to witness this 'gleaming frost' that you mention. Could you send some to Las Vegas? LOL I appreciate you even more now due to these sentiments, my friend *standing ovation*

7. Ah, do you want to talk weight? lol Now if we talk blood diamonds, then one hell of a cost. Slightly lost me with an otherwise fine verse with relating pearls to gleaming frost, maybe color.
