How to convince my parents that shopping online with a debit card is safe?

well, basically there is a shirt that is only sold online that i need. recently someone stole my parents debit card information and stole $5,000. of course they canceled that debit card and got a new one. before i asked them for the shirt, i check the websites private policy and i checked if it had https and basically i did alot of research and read alot of reviews, but unfortunately to my parents this is not enough (btw the website is called http://www.districtlines.com/home). I really need this shirt by the end of the month and my parents don't care to the point they locked me up in a room and called me a demon child, anyways is there any other way i could convince them or i could buy this shirt? i was also considering pay pal but basically my parents don't want that stolen $5,000 to occur again (since it was the first time if ever happened to them) . I'm sure it's going to happen and supposibly this man who works at the bank and helped solve everything out and gave them some list explaining all the websites they could use which i totally think is a stupid lie. i'm sure this website is 100% safe. Help me please, I have absolutely no persuasive attitude.

  1. you can't, because it's not.
  2. Get ur own prepaid card. Walmart is pretty good. Load it up and shop shop shop
  3. I dunno. Target, as i pronounce, TAR-Gey, got their credit card lines hacked. So did the New York State Employees Credit/Debit line. So i dont trust that. Even if they've got firewalls and all. I guess you have to go thru it with them, line by line, company policy by company policy. They are not dumb and are not paranoid. They are just......not as up to date with internet security policies as you are. Spend some extra time with them to get them up to speed. They love you and worry about you. If you spend the time with them i think it will pay off emotionally, and maybe even financially. Good Luck!!!!!
