Why cant i find Jericho in Fallout 3?

I recently started playing the game fallout three, and had entered the vault with my partner in crime, Jericho, who i hired to join me in my quests. So I went into vault 112, and went into the video simulator. When I came out, Jericho was nowhere to be seen. I left him right by my side in the vault, and now i cannot find him. Anyone have suggestions/ideas where he could be?

1. Probably got killed by radiation. That's my best guess.
2. the same thing happened to me but with dog meat and i couldn't find him for a long time and at one point he just poped out a of a door i walked out of it was all freaking weird but i guess just ignore it till he pops out of something if that doesn't work go into one of the dlc locations such as point lookout or the pit and heel automatically be dismissed and you can just go get him again from megaton
