How should I make a wall in my fish tank?

I would like to have a wall up to the water (being lower than regular) in my tank with sand on top. I want to make a mould or something for the wall to make it water proof... or at least safe for the fish. I have thought of just a bunch of rocks but that may lead to waste build up...

1. you should put a picture in the back so the fishes won't run into glass
2. you can buy things like that at petstores. try petsmart.com or petco.com they have all sorts of things for fish tanks

4. you could use lego they did it at lego land and the fish seem healthy
5. Have some glass cut to the shape and size your tank requires, or an acrylic stand.

Ive seen planted aquariums with planted walls They spread silicone on the back wall and cover it in peat, rockwol, or soil. they mix in acouple of cups siliconed onto the wall to house additional plants. but overall it grows ground cover and climbing type plants all over it, its an alive back drop. that would be cool i can let you know when i try
