Is sanding dry-wall safe while pregnant?
The room the sanding needs to be done in is a small bathroom, so it shouldn't take very long. If I wear a mask over my face is it safe to sand the wall if I am 5 months pregnant?

- Wear a good mask and turn on the fan.
- no
- I wouldn't reccomend it.
- yeah it should be safe
- Absolutely not! While there is no harm in the drywall itself, the dust can get into your system!
- Use a safe mask which includes a purified breathing device always, pregnant or not.
- If you're doing your OLD house I'd be wary as sometimes old homes have lead-based paints. Otherwise, your mask and good judgement should be alright!
- I would not attempt it!!!! No mask will protect you from breathing in the dust 100%....so having said that, put that project on the back burner for now.
- As long as your wearing a mask that prevents the dust going into you, i'm sure it's fine.
- surely you can get some1 to do it 4u.whats more important the room or baby, better safe then sorry,i wouldnt chance it
- I was working on this kind of stuff while my wife was pregnant, and I wouldn't even let her in the same room as me. I wiped the walls thoroughly and made sure everything was cleaned up before I let her go into that room again. I didn't want to take any chances.
- Your not talking about dusting a piece of furniture. When you exert any energy it will effect the baby as sanding requires allot of strength, and it can cause a miscarriage, or bleeding. I would say that NO it is not safe
- i would see no problem as long as you wear a good mask and dont over do it. i am pregnant and we are remodeling a house, and i helped with this kind of stuff :) not much cause i would get tired though
