on small electronic home safe how do you change the code?

We have a small home safe, like those you get in holiday hotels. we enter four digits and either A or B. how do we change the code. I have tried removing the batteries but this did not work. Can anyone help.

1. I suppose all models are slightly different,but on mine there is a small lever type switch by the battery compartment that you move in order to change the number then back to reset. Failing all else get a local hoody to have a look ,he will have it open in 30 secs so there will be no need to have one in the first place
