  1. Crated with a Kong stuffed with delicious frozen treats.
  2. toys that make noise...they'll have a blast!
  3. rawhide chews
  4. get a gate to put around its cage an put chewtoys in it.
  5. definitely NOT the rawhide chews. those you need to watch your dog eat. make sure to not get the ones that have knots and twists just in case they swallow those parts whole. My dog got very sick by trying to digest one of those knots so we just get the flat square/rectangle ones. kongs are good ideas with frozen peanut butter in them. nylabones are good too. any toys that can be shredded, pieces that can come off, or ropes probably aren't good for being alone.
  6. Either have him in a crate, or gated off with a baby gate, in a room that has been puppy-proofed. That means getting all electrical cords out of the way so he or she can't chew them, trash barrels up on the counters or in another room, removing anything the puppy can ingest and choke on. Depending on how old the puppy is, you can only keep him crated for a certain period of time without needing to go out to eliminate. A rule of thumb is 1 hour for every month of age plus 1. So, a 3 month old puppy can stay in a crate no more than 4 hours , probably less, without needing to go outside. The puppy should have access to water all the time. You can have puppy-safe toys for him to chew on, like a Kong. You'll need to inspect any toy for too-much chewing, or breaks, and remove any toy that looks like it could be swallowed. Good luck!
  7. haha i had a similar situation. what i did was buy the chew sticks, my dog loves them. best of all, it takes like 4 hours for my dog to chew it all. haha good luck :)
  8. chew toys or kongs. they sell chew toys and kongs especially for puppys, they have a softer more flexible rubber that is good for puppys when they are teething. also keep your puppy crated when you arent home, they sell special things to stuff the kongs with but if you dont want to buy them just stuff it with peanut butter, or small to medium sized dog treats.
  9. I crate my dogs when I'm gone, they get a stuffed Kong toy.
  10. I would put the puppy in a crate for the day with plenty water, but that means you would have to come home and let him/her out during the day. Or put them in the bathroom with water and toys and leave a puppy mat down so maybe it could go on that instead of the floor.
  11. Leave a radio, or the tv, on. It'll keep him /her company. We've always done it, and never had complaints, of howling or crying. I usually leave animal planet on. Hubby leaves whatever he watches, on. So, far either works. Best bet, whatever music, or tv shows you watch/ listen to, will work. As if you were there
  12. Well beside your furniture and shoes. Give the pup noise like a radio, and safe chew toys. ASK your vet what is safe. Also, a friend, like another pup, or a kitten is great company. I have always had multiple animals, dogs, cats, rats, bunnies, and because they all start out together no one realizes that they should eat each other. That and a long walk in the shade! after work, and plenty of touching will develop a normal loving healthy dog.
  13. gat your puppy tuns of toys and treets that will keep him amused
  14. Crate them. It's very safe if you research the crate you will use. You can put toys that are safe in there with the pup. There are also water bottles that hang from the side so they have access to water. This will also house break your pup! Go to: www.peteducation.com and follow the tabs. They will also be unable to get into things that we may not even realize can hurt them if left unsupervised.
  15. Give them chew toys to keep them entertained, also, try not to buy the ones that have parts that are able to come off. The pup/dog may end up choking on it while your away. A fun toy would be a large tennis ball three times it's natural size since it's durable and wont become lodged in the dog's throat. One other thing, if you plan to place it in the crate with it's fun toys, take it out for a walk first so the dog wont become restless. This goes the same for if you plan to leave it freely in the house while you're gone. If the dog's energy is 'spent' they are less likely to tear things up.
