Safe Luxury

my cat brought home a little baby rabbit/bunny....(not sure which) how do I.....?

please answer these questions: 1. how do i know what kind of rabbit/bunny it is? 2. is feeding it milk okay? 3. how do i know how much to give it? 4. i have a safe box for it... what do i put inside to make it feel like its in the outdoors? thanks. My cat brought it home. there are no nests nearby & it cant walk yet. its eyes are open but i think it is depressed. i dont think it is injured. i am keeping it in a homemade but natural habitat til it can walk. in a few days or so (if if lives) i will release it in a safe place. thanks. & i don't want comments like... "Leave it be" "go find its mother" "put it back where you got it" (my cat brought it home remember?) "its going to die soon. less than 10 percent of wild bunnies live in captivity." I dont want to hear that since thats all thats on the internet. i believe i am doing whats best for it. it is about 3 1/2 to 4 inches by the way. THANKS! (my 4th question is most important to me. i have a good idea about the rest. thanks!

  1. dont feed it regular milk, they cant digest that, it is not good for them and will give it diahrreah, then it will die of dehydration. I think you should feed it that special milk that they sell for cats at the petstores. It is expensive, thats the only thing i can think of. or you can call the vets office and ask them.
  2. Your cat must have a really strong maternal instinct...a rabbit and a bunny are the same thing...uhhh...call your local vet...or the humane society to ask how you should take care of it...try putting like grass or dirt in the little habitat you built for it...and make sure the little guy is warm
