how can i open a small home combination safe? give me some points.?

the is about 20"x30" its a small home safe. i lost my combo number.

1. hmmmm are you sure it's your safe and not the neighbors?
2. YEP, and you can use it for other SAFE work as well. Just last night on some CSI show; they introduced a "Plasma Sabre". I'll assume it's a valid piece of equipment, and likely would pay for itself over some course of time.
3. Do you have a small mirror? Hold it behind the handel,the combo should be there,andyou will see it using the mirror.
4. A locksmith comes to mind.
5. the older it is the tuffer .. they made some hard to crack ( by combo) safes back then, before the days when the the Radio and telephone were common. after about 1960 the mass made units made a lot of tell-tail noises untill the 1990 when they got quite again. still no picnic to run 4 numbers at random into the right order, Best bet is to take it to a lock smith, hope the worth is enough to pay his bill. to just open it the hard way, take it to a small welding shop he might do it for you or call the cops, his call,
6. l-0 pass it 2 times to 0, r pass it once to 0 , left to 1, then 0 ,0 , 2 then 0, 0, 3. or drill out 3 holes in the back, one at the dial center, take a long screwdriver and remove the inner door cover.the other 2 holes are for a flashlight and your eye. line up the tumblers and open up the door.
7. Call the manufacturer with model and serial number. With proper ID (I suppose so) they may be able to tell you what to do.
8. Cant tell you It could get me 5 to 10 on the inside.I gave it up years ago except for financial gain!
