How many more mothers are going to have to beg Bush to bring their sons or daughters home safe?
Also at a news conference, Susan Dinsdale, whose son has served two tours of duty in Iraq, said, "I am begging the president to bring our troops home." Tears welled in her eyes as she added, "This war is senseless. I don't want our soldiers to feel like they have served in vain." why wont he listen to the majority of people in this country in ending his fallacious war? good for you tuefe. sure she wasn't thrilled about you being over there for no reason though. rc your a little nutty but I see the propaganda has gotten to you. If that was the case then wouldn't it make sense to have troops protect america. Can't shoot a missle from iraq over here. you know people that the military is recruiting these kids with promises of greatness by sleazy sales recruiters who get paid fat bonuses. We have crappy commercials who are targeting kids to stop playing video games and join the army. The reason why is they have to replace those who died already and the fact that our troops are spread thin because Geroge did not plan the war out. Anyone who loves there kid is sure not going to want them to go to Iraq and that is why Gw is not sending his kids or any congress person for that matter. And you cowards have the heart to attack moms who are just looking out for the interest of their kids. You pigs should be ashamed of yourself. lol kitty did you just wake up. 9/11 afghanistan iraq wmds, um I mean iraqi freedom, ummm police iraq for a while ummm civil war in iraq. what is the mission in iraq again? regardless 9/11= afghanistan so the vain part is referring to iraq. come back when you borrow some intellect I meant lol at bytchy. I guess we are all stupid from time to time. Patrick you kill me. You would be embarrased that your mom was looking out for your best interest. Your mom gave birth to you and doesn't want you to get hurt especially for policing a country you were never born in. Btw the only talking heads I listen to were my professors in college and my rational beliefs based on reading scholarly journals, textbooks, as well as just pure logic. By the way you sholuldn't end your statement with a quote without explaining its signifigance to your rambling. And just to coment on that crappy quote you can be patriotic if you don't support a war that is doomed to fail and a better quote would be that those who don't learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them.

- 'cause they make lots of money in this war, that's why they started it ...
- How many more times will idiots like you post BS questions like this?
- Mothers are mothers. Their "children" signed up themselves. My dad is a decorated Vietnam Vet who signed up TO go to Vietnam. My Uncle was a Vietnam Marine Sniper. All he talks to me about anymore is getting out of the Army.
- Wahhaaaa Wahhhaaaaa Wahhhaaaaaa more bleeding heart whining.
- He doesn't have to fight. His kids don't have to fight. Cons don't have to fight. As long as none of these people have to do any more than talk about it incessantly, they'll be for it.
- GWB is not listening, period. not to the soldiers, not to America. His only supporters are Laura and Barney. The only other person I've heard of that was taking direction from a dog was the "Son of Sam" serial killer. things that make you go humm.
- Stubborn morons don't usually base their decisions on other people's opinions or well-being.
- If that was my mother I would tell her to shut up...I am not a child anymore and to quit using me as a talking point for Liberal cry babies... Why weren't there any reporters and news conferences when my mother wanted me to come home from Bosnia and Kosovo? Oh yea the media thought Clinton getting involved in a Civil War and taking out a dictator was a good thing... Waiting on the thumbs downs...
- Because he has sold his soul to a higher power. He doesn't work for the people. He works for the "elite". And if you don't belong to a secret society he's not going to listen to to what you have to say. Alex Jones '08
- i am a wife of a solider i know and want my husband to come home too however i know what his job is and i respect his job and him for that. i think of others that have a love one out there too i think its wrong to be shelfish
- Man oh man!!!! Is everybody forgetting the reason our troops are over in Iraq? Would you rather have them here and take over the United States? I am so sick of hearing about our troops being pulled. Hang it up!! I feel President Bush is doing the right thing. Stop being such cry babies!!!
- Bush doesn't CARE. He has his own agenda, and he's sticking to it. That's why he's so dangerous.
- Here's a better question. How many hippies are going to come into the military page and whine about bringing the troops home? Maybe if one more person asks the exact same question that 1000 other hippies asked before them, maybe then Bush will be reading their question in Yahoo answer and decide, "you know what, I think it's about time to pull the troops out".
- Although i originally supported the war, and I saw the need of the 'preemptive strike' before things had gotten out of control. Remember back just before it started? The media covered Iraq's refusal to the weapons inspectors. iraq was noncompliant. Nothing was going in the way for peace. Everyone backed the war. Now no one does. My own support has waned. Now, we ought to pull a couple troops out and let the iraqis protect the freedom that they so desperately want. But as Rousseau said, we cannot impose our ideals of government upon a different society. In some places, a dictatorship is needed. let us not dictate to the iraqis how to run their country, and let us not dictate how they govern each others. But if we do, we run the risk of major civil war. Maybe what we need to do is to impose martial law, and take complete control. Right now, we are doing nothing but dying. We need to actually do something in this war, not just sit idly back and watch our struggle become naught. I agree with the chap who went to bosnia- it is their choice to join the army- there is no draft. This is a purely volunteer army. Mothers- if your son is in iraq, respect his duty. This is our war as a country- let us embrace it so that something may come from it in the end.
- Well I have sympathy for her – however; emotion can be very misleading when trying to make a rational decision. There are many issues with these family members. It is too bad in some cases when the family goes against the wishes of the one serving. Having served myself I think I might have been embarrassed if my mom had been talking to the president and it was in the national news. I salute the son for serving and pray he remains safe but I hardly think it is the majority of people who think this way. You need to stop watching TV where some talking head tells you what to think and get into some rational news as well as read a few books on history to get a true feel for what is happening in the world. "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)
- Bush has too much money invested. So does Cheney with his Halliburton stock and reconstruction contracts. Besides most people sign themselves up for college, not thinking they'll die to line some politicians pocket. And seriously Iraq is a 3rd world country. They don't even have basic amenities; they still use generators for their electricity. They only people opposing us are were a few radical religiousmen. How in the heck are they going to possible attack a superpower such as America on American soil??? Seriously, it's impossible. I can't even sneeze without Big Brother knowing about it. There is no threat, and there never has been. It was all a lie to cover up the oil biz. Bush is the terrorist.
- who forced this lady's kid to enlist ? Tell the 3000 plus family members of those killed on 11 Sept that this war is in vain... I double dog dare you...
- The military didn't force their children to join. Those kids VOLUNTARILY joined the military. They all knew that war can occur at anytime and if it does, they are willing to participate. It is on the contract that you sign at MEPS when you first enlist.
- I read these posts and one hit home! She mentioned telling the mothers/daughter/sons/wives that their people died in vain on 9/11! How quickly we forget that we were attacked by Islam extremists! I agree, they weren't from Iraq, so don't hit me with that excuse! They were from countries in the middle east that teach death or convert of all people of the world. No mother should be begging, they should all be proud and loyal to the troops!!
- Her son volunteered and the President is going to do the right thing no matter what the polls say.
- OH yes, I do recall a similar event when there many people in the north calling Lincoln a hard headed idiot for continuing with the war. If only he had listened, all of them soldiers would had never died. This is a not popular war, wars are not supposed to be popular. People need to understand that if we leave, they are coming after us. This is not the Vietcong, these animals will come to our little main street American and detonate all kind of bombs. Just look how easy Mr. Cho killed all of them people, just think someone with explosives in a crowded place. We are infidels, actually, the ones that wants out of this conflicts are the ones that started all of this. These people feel like Hollywood's values are being imposed on them and they retaliated but yet, the ones that do not hold the same values as the Hollywood elites are doing the fighting, so these people can continue trying to impose their values? go figure!!!!!
