  1. You should buy a dog like K9 It will guard you from thieves
  2. My personal opinion is to not put so much thought and worry into it. I think we should all lock our doors because if someone wants in bad enough they will do what they have to to do it.
  3. Don't plant bushes or anything near your house (gives them a place to hide). Get a large guard dog and let it stay inside at night. If you can't have a dog, then buy a gigantic bone at a pet store and leave it on your doorstep. If you are single or don't live with a guy, get a HUGE pair of work boots, wear them to get them muddy and leave them outside the door of your house. Get one of those 'home security' signs (even if you don't have a service) and put it in your yard. You can also get a carry permit and take lessons so you can carry a handgun. Just make sure to know how to use it, and be able to keep your cool in the event some jag breaks in. Learn karate, judo or kung fu. That always helps. Even the basics can hurt or disable an attacker, even when you aren't at home. Keep aware of what is going on in your neighborhood. If you notice suspicious cars parked around for hours at a time and don't recoginze the vehicle (and there is someone in it), try to get their plate number. Don't put your name on your house or mailbox (criminals can look up your phone number in the phone book if it's listed and call to see if you are home). These are just off the top of my head.
  4. STICKY BUSHES AROUND WINDOWS, MOTION LIGHTS, NO BUSHES AROUND CORNERS OR HOME, COULD BE A HIDING PLACE. WINDOW AND DOOR LOCKS. DON'T LEAVE LADDERS OUT WHERE THEY COULD BE USED.
  5. a few things off the top of my head are get a motion detector light for the yard, plant rose bushes rasberry blackberry something with thorns under windows, get a dog if you can't have a dog get one of those sensors that bark or talk(they can say anything you want them to like f or instance the police are on there way) if anyone comes to your door, get a securuty system they also can help if there is a medical emergency or fire, and make sure your doors have a deadbolt. Never leave your newspaper or mail unchecked if you do they will think that your not home. One more thing that makes it harder to get in is to wedge a stick or board in all of your windows, in my experience most window locks can be easily broken but this makes it much harder to get the window open.(make sure your basement windows are locked also. Good luck and I hope this helps
  6. 1. Dont have any hidden unlit doors or windows at night/ 2. A dog is a good investment. 3. Always an home alarm system is good 4.Security camaras, you can get fake ones that look so real! 5. House protected by Smith and Wesson sign 6. Get a gun, learn to use it. If you have children teach them to respect and handle them also, less chance of accident. 7. Motion detector lights outside are great!
