- i do it...... i dont think anything bad happens
- I've never had any problems and I've been doing that for years.
- as long as you shut it down first there is no problem,
- Shouldn't do. Make sure you save files, and shut down properly etc.
- I do bu just make sure you log off and shut down first
- Yes I always do
- It should be OK--just be sure to shut down the operating system first.
- Yes it is safe to turn your computer off at the mains each day...as long as you have shut the pc down beforehand, dont turn it off when it is still running :p
- You won't be able to use it until you switch it back on.
- Log off and turn off through the menu, if you just switch off you will cause problems.
- Well if my computer was on and hasn't booted down it can occasionally but not very often cause problems. But once i was in a computer shop and the man was trying to fix a computer and switched it off without booting down all the time so either it doesn't cause much harm or he wasn't a very good professional.
- Yes You can also get special plugs that automatically turn the power to the computer and all components e.g printer moniter etc of when you shut down. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9820872/Trail/searchtext%3EENERGY+SAVING.htm If u live in the UK
- hi there its perfectly safe to switch the p.c off from the mains whenever you want, however make sure you turn off the p.c correctly before you switch the mains switch off,and if your power supply has a on/off switch then turn this to the "0" position if saving electricity and power is important to you then you can also get power supplies that are "green" and never run over 80%,and some manufactuers are developing "green" p.c,s with all energy efficent hardware and peripherals good luck !
- i always turn mine off of nighttime
- Providing that you shut down the computer in the correct manner,Windows will save all your settings, data etc. and then shut down. You can switch off at the mains (as I have done for years) and you will lose no data. Obviously,it would be wise to close all programmes before closing down your PC.
- No, this won`t cause problems. Close down your computer in the normal way first, then its quite safe to turn off at the mains. Its nice to see you are doing your bit in trying to save the planet from overheating. "Keep it up"
